Osama Bin Laden DEAD!

Thank God for waterboarding, wiretaps, Gitmo prison, and all the other policies of the Bush Administration that came into play to find bin Laden; those same policies that The Obama campaigned against but didn't have the balls to stop. :)

Waterboarding was ended well before Obama came to the Presidency, and no evidence exists that it revealed any valuable info.

Now you can PRETEND it was different... maybe when Obama became president, he started giving them ice cream and cookies, and that's what broke them? But.... this info on the courier came 4 years ago, before Obama was president. Not to mention the fact that Obama extended many of the Bush policies on interrogation, and definitely wasn't using the ice cream and cookies approach.

Jarhead, I DO know that, because it's what has been reported. Intelligence gathered as far back as 4 years ago, from KSM, led to the courier/runner, who led us to OBL. We know he was waterboarded, and renditioned, and we can assume he was interrogated using all of the other Bush/Cheney/Clinton techniques which were SO controversial to the left... because KSM was the #2 guy behind OBL! If they didn't "torture" him, they probably didn't "torture" anyone, I would imagine. If you want to willingly suspend disbelief and argue a person would divulge information from the lack of torture after torture didn't work... then that's up to you, but I can't make myself buy that one, really.

You assumed the things you are claiming are true....
Even if they tourtured him, that does not mean the tourture led to the information.
Its just as likely that a promise to allow him to speak with a loved one got him to divulge the information. You dont know! Wanting something to be true does not make it so....

THE LEFT has advocated we treat people like KSM as if they are civilian criminals, with "Constitutional rights" and deserving of jurisprudence in our civilian courts... which means, people like KSM would be given a lawyer, and the kind of information we obtained from him, would be illegal to obtain without his lawyer present. Which means, we would have never found Osama Bin Laden. THE LEFT has advocated closing Gitmo, and either releasing the prisoners or bringing them to the US for trial... ENDING the rendition programs and dismantling the interrogation programs of the Bush/Cheney era. ALL of this is directly responsible for the intelligence information gathered, which enabled us to kill Osama Bin Laden!

There are a LOT of people who deserve enormous praise and credit for this historic accomplishment, including the last three presidents... but one entity who deserves ZERO credit, is the LIBERAL LEFT in America! You did NOTHING to bring this about, and in fact, did everything you could to hinder it, stop it, prevent it from happening, every step of the way! Now, you bizarrely want to step up and take credit for it???? How fucking queer!

Well, personally, I'm not taking any credit for it. But the more I read, the clearer it becomes how much credit lies w/ Obama, and in his making the pursuit of OBL the #1 priority.

As for waterboarding, you don't have a leg to stand on. There is nothing out there to show that waterboarding is what got us the info. Beyond that, the debate about waterboarding is absolutely, 100% NOT about what kind of information we can get with it, and 100% what kind of country we want to be.

Bummer for you that the polls are showing massive increases for Obama on this, and not for support of waterboarding....

Jarhead, turn off MSNBC and watch some real news. Stop going to the HuffPo blog and try some credible sources... the story is out there. ID posted links yesterday, and I don't feel like finding those, besides... it's pretty much common billy-goat sense here. If you want to cling to some silly idea, that's up to you, but I feel compelled to tell you, it makes you look pretty stupid and hackish. Just give it up man... The Clinton/Bush/Obama policies on interrogation of detainees at Gitmo, WORKED! And it KILLED OBL! ...Oh Happy Day, right???

I know you libs want to think this bump for O is going to stick around, and he may have very well won over some indies with this, he did have the balls to pull the trigger on the operation, gotta give him credit for that... but really, was it that much of a contemplation? You have a chance to kill OBL, you know where he is..... who is going to punt on that? I mean, seriously, think about that for a moment, we're all glad Obama did this, but what else could he have done? Liberals are acting like this makes him some big shot military hero, but really... he did what we would expect ANY president to do, under the circumstances. It's great that he did it, he could have not done it... that would have been unfortunate. And it will help him politically, no doubt. But there is a long way to go until November 2012, and a lot can still happen between now and then. I would caution you not to read too much into this killing of OBL, or how the public will 'swoon' over Obama because of it.

Jarhead, Liberals were opposed to ALL interrogation methods being used by Bush and Cheney! They felt these interrogations violated their civil liberties, and argued we should incarcerate them under US law, as we would any routine criminal. That was the whole entire point behind closing Gitmo! Why are you trying to run away from what Liberals have been espousing for the past decade? Do you think we are too stupid and clueless to remember this or something? The bottom line is, if Liberals had gotten their way on the treatment of detainees, there would have NEVER been information divulged, leading us to OBL. Let's see I suppose that the CIA needed to take KSM to Poland to apply "standard interrogation techniques" :rofl: I am certain Rumsfeld is technically telling the truth. One would not be in the actual position of being water-boarded AND talking at the same time! I am pretty certain however that while in a room after the fact-with the threat <standard technique here> of more to come, one might be a little more willing to talk!
