I certainly don't understand how they think good writing isn't a marker for intelligence, and they seem to take it personally. I didn't say it was the only thing but it's not a small thing. Look at the Orange One's tweets... are we supposed to infer from them that he's intelligent? If so the standard has really dropped. He can't spell, has weird capitalizations, faulty logic and poor understanding. Yet some of those cons think he's the Second Coming of Christ. Go figure.

Aw thanks. They're eaten up with envy is their problem, especially the Toxic one. Angry Bird just wants my attention. lol

There's been a long-term trend among the right to disdain education, intelligence, academic achievement, decent grammar, science, etc. They're seen as "elite." I'm not surprised at all that they have no problem with 45 expressing himself at the level of a third-grader. He's "one of us" they think.
 
This Oprah statement may be more than just a response why she is not running. God did not tell me to and he isn't going to. However he does, i reconsider. She knows better.

Many of the cons here complain about schools, that they aren't doing a good enough job of teaching, that the material gets dumbed down, that there's too much indoctrination. Yet on the other hand they're making fun of educated people. I'm not sure how you can hold those two different beliefs in your head at the same time. :)

I don't think they really give much of a shit about education; the griping about the current state of public education is just a way to dig at teachers, unions, and anything seen as liberal. Like books and science and hard stuff. lol

I don't know that those two ideas are necessarily mutually exclusive. You can want good schools but still dislike the attitudes of certain academic elite. There are people who are a*holes from all walks of life and that includes your Ivy League types. They definitely aren't above reproach
