Only 54% of fed employees report to a workplace

In my judgement, this is nothing short of a looting operation for bloated bureaucrats and their public sector union fat-cat buddies.

According to an August 2024 Office of Management and Budget (OMB) report on telework based on data from May 2024, 2.28 million federal employees, roughly 1.2 million or 54% worked fully on-site, as their jobs require them to be physically present during working hours.

Before uninformed Democrats start shrieking, be aware that the Biden/Harris Administration has worked to implement increased in-person office presence at federal agencies, and worked with the OMB to issue guidance, Memorandum M-23-15: Measuring, Monitoring, and Improving Organizational Health and Organizational Performance in the Context of Evolving Agency Work Environments, in April 2023. The guidance is aimed at helping agencies make decisions about their in-office workplace postures as they prioritize mission delivery.

That guidance called for agencies to “substantially increase meaningful in-person work at Federal offices, particularly at headquarters and equivalents.

Further, federal agencies are moving toward a posture where, on average, telework-eligible teams are working in-person at the office at least half of the time, in addition to the roughly half of federal employees that work entirely in person already, according to the report.

Very often now the so called jobs are a scam....it is feather bedding for those loyal to the revolution and manufacturing employment...government jobs and the likely even larger number of federal treasury financed NGO jobs....often paying well over $100k/year.

I suspect that @VivekGRamaswamy and @elonmusk could winnow out 80% of the bureaucrats in the Maryland/DC/Virginia area and the government would still run.

The current management and employees at federal agencies all know this ... and they're freaking out for a reason.

Watching some of the pre Musk Twitter employee Tic Toks and such is intstructive.....not only only did they do almost no work.....they bragged to the world about it.

I wish I could remember the details....I recently heard about a fed employee who did not do a day of work in 7 months.....he fell through the cracks we are told and he decided to not call in for instructions.

The money showed up in his accounts, the health insurance worked fine. ....if you dont believe it could happen I direct you to stories going back twenty years about employment corruption at NYC and NYS transit agencies.

I recently installed a bunch of lighting and such for a customer in Snobsdale (aka Scottsdale AZ) to the tune of about $10K. I'm not sure exactly what this guy did but he was a Pakistani emigree and watched teleconferences about 'stuff.' At one point, he got angry that I killed power to a circuit (I told him this sort of thing could happen due to the extensive amount of work I was doing on his home) and he lost internet while in one of these. He asked me if I knew who "Condoleezza Rice" was, and said she was part of that conference.

I try to work with my customers, but they have to understand I also have to get things done. I warn them power might get interrupted while I'm doing what I do. I got the distinct impression that whatever it was he did wasn't worth what he was getting paid.
