If you don't already have one, make a will. An advanced m edical directive is a good idea too.
He doesn't have one and get ready for the fireworks.
 
Without knowing any of the back story seems pretty surprising that someone of his means and age (57 isn't old but you're no spring chicken either) wouldn't have one.

You're right though. You have to expect they'll be some serious fighting between his siblings over his estate.
 
Or you could do as I do. Have no money, owe a huge amount of taxes, have a huge amount of debt and then die and stick it to em.
