  • It happened in front of the Paris Hotel & Casino and Planet Hollywood as the Miss Universe Pageant was underway

One person has been killed and at least 30 have been injured on the Las Vegas Strip after a female driver intentionally plowed into pedestrians on the sidewalk.


Lakeisha N. Holloway, 24, of Portland, has been identified as the driver, who had a toddler in the back seat when she allegedly hit pedestrians on two different sections of the sidewalk while heading north on Las Vegas Boulevard near Bellagio Way.


She is accused of murder, child abuse or neglect and failure to remain at the scene of an accident, jail records show, and is being held without bail at Clark County Jail.


Prosecutors say they expect to file murder charges and other counts against the driver. Clark County District Attorney Steve Wolfson said Monday that the vehicle could be considered a deadly weapon.


He said: 'When a person drives a 2,000-pound-plus motor vehicle intentionally onto a sidewalk, killing and injuring scores of people, that's murder.'

On Monday, Clark County Coroner John Fudenberg said Jessica Valenzuela, 32, of Buckeye, Arizona, died in the crash Sunday night. The coroner said the suburban Phoenix woman was visiting Las Vegas with her husband. A cause of death is pending, with an autopsy scheduled for Monday.

LOS ANGELES, California (CNN) -- The Los Angeles district attorney's office filed charges of vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence Monday against the driver of a car that struck and killed 10 people and injured 63 others at a farmers' market in Santa Monica last summer. Attorneys for George Russell Weller, 87, have been notified to surrender their client to authorities at 10:30 a.m. (1:30 p.m. ET) Tuesday, according to a statement from the district attorney's office. Bail was recommended at $50,000.

If convicted of all 10 counts, Weller faces a possible sentence ranging from probation to 18 years in state prison, the statement said. The victims were all shopping July 16, 2003, at the market on Arizona Avenue in Santa Monica when the crash occurred.

Santa Monica Police Chief James Butts Jr. said at a news conference in December that after a five-month investigation, authorities believe that Weller hit the gas pedal instead of the brake of his 1992 Buick LeSabre after a minor fender-bender at a nearby intersection, just before his vehicle careered three blocks through the crowded pedestrian market. The only reason his car eventually stopped, Butts said, was because a body trapped beneath the vehicle slowed it down. "Mr. Weller was conscious throughout the collision sequence; no evidence exists that Mr. Weller attempted to take the car out of gear; there is no indication of braking throughout the entire collision sequence," Butts said.

Weller is charged in the deaths of Theresa Bregalia, 50, of the Bronx, New York; Brendon Esfahani, 7 months, Molok Ghoulian, 62, and Cindy Valladares, 3, all of Los Angeles; Gloria Gonzalez, 35, of Venice; Movsha Hoffman, 78, of Santa Monica; Leroy Lattier, 55, a transient; Diana McCarthy, 41, and Kevin McCarthy, 50, both of New York; and Lynne Ann Weaver, 47, of Woodland Hills."

Apparently a Las Vegas sheriff is "uncomfortable" revealing the motive behind Lakeisha Nicole Holloway's violent rampage through the streets of Las Vegas that left one dead and at least 35 pedestrians injured.


Holloway, 24, was driving with her three-year-old daughter in the back seat as she plowed into pedestrians along the Las Vegas strip. However, comments from Clark County Sheriff Joe Lombardo, according to Fox News, claim that he was "uncomfortable" revealing the motive behind why Holloway engaged in her murderous actions.

In fact, he believes that the actions of Holloway are not a "militant attack." Then why be uncomfortable with the motive?


Though authorities have claimed to have ruled out terrorism, they were confident that Holloway did what she did deliberately. According to at least one eyewitness, Holloway was uttering an all too familiar phrase as she mowed people down on the strip.


"As this unfolded, the only thing I recall as this happened is the insane sound of her car accelerating and the voice from the car was screaming 'Allah Akbar!' I've heard the sound enough times on the news that I was waiting for a bomb to blow up or guns to start firing," said the eyewitness.


According to Sheriff Lombardo, "She didn't appear to be distressed due to her actions. That's the best way I can describe it."



I find it odd that this has dropped from the news all together. What are they hiding, was she another crazy black terrorist out to kill all the white innocent victims she could find or was she another muslim terrorist out to destroy anything she could find.
