It does seem to be a trend, lately.
Don't they usually state who did the survey?
1) They should not govern by survey
2) In this case, they most certainly should not
for:
a) The tax swap idea is regressive
b) The survey doesn't seem to tell people that it is easy to say 'reduce the use of nuclear, coal, nat gas', there are no other viable options at this time unless everyone is also ok with dramatic increases in their energy/fuel bills.

i find it interesting that the same libs who were so happy obamacare passed into law....ignored the fact that most polls showed americans did not want the law. so in essence, using their logic here, congress ignored voters, but that is ok as long as their agenda gets passed.
i find it troubling this notion that polls or surveys should heavily influence our reps to the point where they vote solely on polls.
