Sounds like you are one of the reasons all those monies given to schools are not paying out.

You're completely missing the point. I got that opportunity and was offered that package because I was highly skilled and talented. You're argument is a non sequitur and a double standard. So I take you back to my original question. Why not do what corporations do and offer compensation and working condition packages that are attractive to top tier talent? The issue of what low skilled entry level people get paid is a non sequitur as I pointed out. If Educators knew that the skills and talents of their profession are attractively compensated for with rewarding working conditions Unions wouldn't even be needed, would they?
The fact that most Educators are protected by Unions is indicative that this is not the case in reality.
Sure but how are we going to do that when the vast majority of public schools are funded by property taxes and there are vast differences and inequalities in communities to fund those schools. Where I live, Dublin, OH, the median household income is $120,000 per year. Typical property tax on a 1,500 sq.ft home is around $4,500/year. In Portsmouth Ohio is $28,000/year and typical property tax on a similar sized home is $785/year. So how do you fully fund Portsmouth schools to Federal standards while paying a competitive wage to their teachers and maintaining local control?
Do you have a solution to that that isn't just a buzz phrase?
This is a serious part of the problem in education that most people recognize but few people have working solutions too and well meaning people on both sides of the aisle have worked together to try and fix this problem without coming up with workable solutions. This is indeed a son of a bitch of a problem to fix.
teachers and schools need more money to function better
the right wing crap of "throw money at the problem" wont work anymore you bag O' dicks

Aah! I see. How's that liberal run state working out for her? Does she grab her ankles on pay day?Eight years, as I said in my post. Public school district in Illinois near St. Louis.
Notice she NEVER mentions accountability of money given. If things aren't why she wants well then just give more money. It's easy and brainless

Missouri does have a tendency of dropping failing teachers. No wonder she had to flee. She actually is making more now, in the Illinois school district, than she was when she lived/worked in Missouri -- a state dominated by (R)s. Thanks for playing.
What about using major tracks of study, like college, at the high school level? You know? STEM, Business, Liberal Arts, Tech Trades, etc., for kids interested in those pursuits?Math and science for one. Have an elementary education major specialize in the area of mathematics for, say, 4th-6th grades. Then use these “specialists” to teach the math that these kids need at those levels. Either have the kids change rooms or the teacher change rooms throughout the day ... or half day if that’s better for them, so the kids get a proper introduction to the background mathematics that they need. We have very good upper elementary teachers but like one would think, they have their strengths and weaknesses. I work with several elementary teachers from other schools as well, helping implement some TI technology in their classrooms. Same story. As a result I get kids in JH who don’t have as good a background as they should have because some difficult objectives have been glossed over and not taught thoroughly. This is fixable, IMO. I’d do the same for science and other specific subject areas at that level. The old days where one (usually lady) taught the same class all day to 4th-6th graders have passed. We are requiring that our kids know more now so it follows that our teachers should know more.
How would you distribute that funding and would local communities retain local control? Keep in mind Desh that in many communities, both urban and rural a communities schools are central and a unifying element in those communities social life. Many, and rightfully so, would forego Federal funding if it means loss of local control.by congress creating a bill increasing the money available for public schools and then the president signing it
I’m glad to hear you say that. For many accountability starts and stops with teachers but how would you enforce good governance by local school boards?Notice she NEVER mentions accountability of money given. If things aren't why she wants well then just give more money. It's easy and brainless
