Oklahoma Bible mandate challenged in Court

Evangelists use the KJV. Why they believe the KJV Bible is the most authentic version is weird to me. Force of habit?

It does have a rich history.

Right, the state is implementing the desires of evangelical Protestants, rather than take into account what would actually work at the level of teaching, instruction, and readability.

The Evangelicals seem to believe KJV is the purest form of the Bible, even though the language is archaic and the science of linguistics has advanced in the 500 years since the KJV translation.

Yeah, let's talk about history and science without ever once mentioning any historians or scientists, lol.

The plaintiffs in the case opposing the Oklahoma Bible mandate and include leaders from the Baptist, Presbyterian, Catholic, and United Church of Christ churches. Atheists by themselves have never won anything transformative, there's not enough of them. So it doesn't aid the cause to be disparaging and demeaning to Christians
Believe it or not, there are reasonable theists out there when it comes to Constitutional protection. It has nothing to do with their fucked up theology.

ALL religions have a vested interest in keeping religion out of schools. They realize that there may be a time when it’s the “other religion” that predominates. This way, everybody wins.

I didn't mention anything about Christianity's 'fucked up' theology.

Just making the point that atheists can't win anything by themselves, and whether it comes to winning court cases, or winning elections in Midwestern swing states, it's never a good idea to demean and disparage potential allies.

As I said, two different issues.

1) Constitutional
2) Theological

This issue is 1)

Shakespeare was hard enough to read in 12th grade English class, but you want fourth graders to be forced to slog their way through archaic Elizabethean English just to satisfy right-wing evangelical adults, rather than give kids widely available translations in contemporary English.

Yes, we shouldn't challenge them in the education system, cuz then they might figure out what sicko deviants really want from them.

Road stripes is not a constitutional issue.

Tyranny of the majority does not apply to constitutional cases.

I'm sure if I looked up the Supreme Court cases against Obamacare, there would only be a limited number of plaintiffs listed on the court case.

You don't have to canvass the state or nation to sign everyone up as a plaintiff for a constitutional test case.

Rubbish. All it is is noise making. Original intent is clear, the SC is no longer run by hacks appointed by a criminal syndicate. Democrats are on their way to the rubbish bin of history. Get over it.

Did you fart and blow your brains out again?
LOL

Another swing and a miss for you. You truly possess the title “Stupidest Motherfucker on the Forum”. Congrats, punk, there’s some considerable competition on this forum, yet you rose to the top. Quickly, I might add.

So the answer is yes, you blew your brains out. Okay.

Do you believe in magic, cocksucker? You should, Festus, because you’re just about to become invisible. Congrats, cunt, you’re one of the few who have managed to do that.

Pay attention now, cunt.

POOF! YOU’RE GONE!

LOL

So? What does Obamacare or the Supreme Court have to do with a State law on teaching the Bible in schools?
