Fmr. Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich says the entire senior leadership of the FBI must be terminated due to overwhelming evidence revealing deep corruption and politicization within the organization:

"I thought the Durham Report was devastating, followed up on the report of the Inspector General, which was devastating. The fact is we need a bill to break up the FBI and replace it with much more reasonable law enforcement systems and eliminate the entire senior leadership. Not a lawyer, but that seems to be the consensus even from the Republicans. "Innocent until proven guilty" is their favorite phrase after they point out the seriousness of the charges.

As one noted, "Trump's mouth is his worst enemy".

Rule 29 acquittal

Like all federal judges, Cannon has the discretion to grant Trump an acquittal on any of the 37 counts he faces — or on all of them — at the conclusion of the government's case or after any defense Trump's lawyers may put on.

I think she's conflating the fact most Americans think the indictments are politically motivated with the loaded phrase "witch hunt".

Just because something is politically motivated doesn't mean it's unjust. Jim Jordan's lies in defense of Trump is "politically motivated".

FWIW, I don't believe the charges are politically motivated but can see why most Americans think so after HRC was given a free pass on her violations. Yes, her violations were much less than Pedo Dons, but the idea she didn't even get a wrist slap sticks with voters, IMO.

Explain. In what ways is it "weak"? They have text messages. They have surveillance video from Trump's own security system. They have witnesses who worked for and/or represented Trump. They have the documents themselves, no doubt with fingerprints. He was offered several opportunities to return the missing documents. He not only refused, he had employees moving them around prior to searches for them.

Contrast and compare that with Pence and Biden, who also had (far lesser numbers) of classified documents stashed at their personal residences and offices. When discovered, they not only turned them over immediately, they authorized further searches in case some were missed. That's all your #MalignantMessiah had to do -- turn them over. Why didn't he?

Exactly. Despite his claim to the contrary, #TRE45ON doesn't want a speedy trial. He knows he's going to lose.

I like that they are holding the trial in FL. Now DeSantis's bluster about blocking any extradition request is moot.
