OJ: Made in America

After listening to the jurors do you think there would ever be a guilty verdict based on their mindset? (actual question, not rhetorical). I mean the prosecution could and should have done better but would it have mattered? From a strictly results perspective Johnny Cochran was brilliant in how he turned into a trial about the LAPD.

No I don't believe so. I watched the rest of it. That one that I said seemed like she was in a trance? I ended up with a very bad feeling listening to and watching her. At one point she said when the verdict was read she was watching Kim Goldman because she hated inflicting that kind of pain on someone but she had to do it. I didn't believe her. I believed she was watching that girl while the verdict was read part. Fully believe.

I understood a lot of the rage over the LAPD. There really arent any words for how awful they were back then, and I think that anyone who wants to take issue with the verdict (and I do) would need to begin by addressing those mf'ers and their role in this. Keep yourself honest you know. They beat people down for years with total impunity, they smirked right on camera as jury after jury came back "not guilty".

OJ was the wrong guy to make the point over. I think it's true what one black guy in the doc said his mom said...that we all know if OJ had murdered his first wife (who was black) his ass would be in jail. Nicole being white and actually both victims being white complicated matters. WHen would there ever be another chance to allow the black murderer of two white people to walk away while smiling at the camera? They wanted white people to see how it feels to have someone spit in your face and laugh at your loss and pain.

OJ is driven across the country and haunted by his victim's father and eventually given a 33 year prison sentence, Cochran a repulsive figure, so enrages the father that he loses his temper, I believe for the only time, on camera and calls him what he is and shakes with rage. A few year later Cochran comes down with a case of brain cancer. Think about that shit.

A lot of people got what they wanted, justice, or perhaps at this point righteous vengeance took a bit longer and is still having its way.

What is f'ing disgusting for the rest of us really is that this shit is still a huge part of our daily lives and here we are again.

This is debatable and it comes down to personal choice, usually by the period of the league that the individual fan witnessed. You're absolutely right because it is impossible to name the best ever according to the stats or even the period.

A lot of fans my age will name the Kansas Comet, Gale Sayers as the best ever. He played on mediocre Bears teams and his career ended prematurely following a horrible injury. Again, my personal choice for best ever was Brown.

But that doesn't mean that I'm right and you're wrong.

Often overlooked IMO is Larry Csonka.

The trial was doomed the very moment the idiot judge allowed TV cameras in the court room. This doomed any semblance of a fair trial and turned the whole thing into a daily reality TV show. How long did this thing go on .. a year?

Kudos to OJ's defense team who transformed the guilt from OJ and onto the LA police department. The jury had OJ acquitted before the first witness for the prosecution testified. The prosecution was weak and should have never allowed the TV cameras and demanded a miss trial from the judge once they were admitted.

Walter Peyton .. Barry Sanders.

The Eagles had a running back named Steve Van Buren who played back in the forties. I have always maintained that he could have played in the modern NFL and been an all pro barring injury. He had the size and power of a fullback and the moves and the agility of a running back.

You really do annoy me intensely, he was in Vietnam the same as your husband Bud. I just wish you would wake the fuck up and actually go there and educate yourself. My daughter in law, who is only 25, knows far more than you about the shit that rained down on her family from the Viet Minh.

Shut the fuck up Tom and stop following Rana around like a half-wit.

I don't even know what he is going on about, he probably has to stop occasionally and wipe the spittle from his screen. I stopped paying attention to him lately, I don't even know what statement of mine resulted in this post about Bud and Vietnam.

I think it is hilarious that I annoy him, I don't care enough about him to be annoyed.

He's been spewing non-stop for days now. I think he's going through an extended "episode".

Are you truly as dense as you seem to be or is this just a feminine version of braggadocio? Let me break it down for you and explain it slowly. Your husband Bud and Philly were both in Vietnam, they saw and experienced some truly appalling things. My daughter in law Erin, who is only 25, seemingly knows far more than you about those times. I can understand a dozy trollop like Darla being totally clueless about that war but I would have imagined that you would be far better informed.

Oh, gee and to think I have missed the bulk of it, what a damned shame.

Par for the course, nothing new there! The three monkeys apply here!!

Never mind her. She's a queer feminist troll who hates white men. She's trying to start trouble on this thread, is all.

Notice I didn't attack anyone on this thread. The bitch had to stir it up. She's the worst moderator on the net and this site with their BS about chronic trolling being free speech is her genesis.

I would thread ban her along with the other three trolls but I let her troll on my threads for strictly entertainment purposes. This is the only way she knows how to shut down differing opinions that she hates reading.
