Ohio anti middle class law stopped dead

Mott the Hoople

Sweet Jane
Opponents of Ohio Senate Bill #5 needed 250,000 signatures on a petition to be placed on the ballot in November. They submitted more then 1,250,000 signatures. Now the Bill must go before the public for a vote and polls are showing the opposition is over 2:1 against.

The deluge of right wing cash into our State is about to begin.

What do you think of the new law allowing gunlovers to hang out in bars packin' heat?

I think it's stupid. Instead of focusing on issue of substance that help the people the right wing legislature is focusing on eliminating the middle class and distracting inanities like this. I think that this salute to stupidity will last until some moron who so fucking insecure that he has to carry a concealed weapon breaks the law, drinks, gets pissed and shoots someone.

PA doesn't have any problems like that.

mott, since you've obviously forgotten what reality is like.....remember the last time you brought this law up and I posted a link to a gunfight in a bar........when it was illegal already.

some people will be idiots and break the law. Does that mean that the rest of us should be without a means of defense?

I don't really care. That wasn't my point. My point is, is that I have more important things to worry about then whether or not I feel so scared and inadequate that I feel the need to carry a concealed weapon in a bar or restaurant.

Things like being able to sell my skills for what the market will bear and not for what some right wing hack politician, who's never produced a thing in his life, dictates to me that it should be.

Unless of course the skill is leadsership or management. They shouldn't be able to 'collectively bargain' (demand more money for typically the same work, in some cases LESS)

Managers are banned from forming unions in the US due to the Taft-Hartley act. Before that act, there were actually many managers unions.

I think I'll be as equally baseless as Mott, and declare that this referendum is a pointless distraction brought on by scared and inadequate people.

Next.

Any law that guts public unions is a good one, thus the mis-information campaign by lib'tards like 15ppMoot, calling it "anti middle class."

Two thirds of the State of Ohio would disagree with you. SB#5 is going down to defeat. The sad part, is that if that moron Kasich hadn't of over reached and made this a union busting issue he could have brought the unions to the table and got his concessions on wagers, merit pay and increased copays on insurance and pensions, just like they did in MA. But no, he had to over reach and make this a union busting law. That's what's going to kill the right wing spin machine in the run up.....Massachusets was able to get these concessions with out union busting. This is a classic case of political over reach and Kasich is going to pay dearly. His odds of re-election look pretty bleak right now going by the poll numbers.

OK Mr. Hyporite. Since Professional Engineers are licensed by the State to perform public engineering services, then you would agree that the State can determine what fees you charge, unilateraly, for your services and that you have no right to bargain. Can you walk that talk or are you just another right wing hypocrite?
