Oh, so you wanted a quid pro quo?

Its Madam Speakers call. That's the rules.

I find your concern about having a vote to test the popular will to be disingenuous.

You have spent two years defending a president who fluked into office against the will of the voters, and you have steadfastly defended the GOPs complete iron-fisted control over the federal government even as the American voter routinely voted in the majority or plurality for Democrats.

You simply do not have a leg to stand on when you wail about needing a vote to test the popular will
ridiculous.. you are complaining at Hillary Clinton levels about the vote.

The House calling an Impeachment isn't just about the "popular will"it changes the nature of the game with Republicans being able to call witnesses and subpoena as well.

Pelosi is an outlier. the other 3 times a vote was called since impeachment is basically an indictment
the "defense" needs to be able to operate in the same manner as the prosecution

why are you afraid of a vote?

A vote comes at the end. The investigation is first. I thought most people understood that.

WRONG! Here is what should be happening:

A vote of the full House authorizing an impeachment inquiry.
The Speaker should involve the full House in each critical step of this inquiry, including defining its scope and establishing its rules and procedures.
There should be co-equal subpoena power to both the Chair and Ranking Member at the committee level.
All subpoenas be subject to a vote of the full committee at the request of either the Chair or Ranking Member.
The President's counsel should have the right to attend all hearings and depositions.
The President's counsel should have the right to present evidence.
The President's counsel should have the right to object to the admittance of evidence.
The President's counsel should have the right to cross-examine witnesses.
The President's counsel should have the right to recommend a witness list.
All findings on impeachment have to be referred to Chairman Nadler and the Judiciary Committee, as prescribed by Rule X of the Rules of the House.

Anything less is a HOAX similar to lawless third world shit holes.
