If Biden wasn't acting unilaterally--eg., on his own-- in demanding that this prosecutor be fired, then who in the US government was? The only person higher up is Obama, and it's pretty damn clear he didn't know anything about that prior to Biden demanding it.
Question, then why did Biden accept a more corrupt, more incompetent, bootlicking lacky of a replacement for Shokin? If he was concerned so much about corruption, wouldn't he have wanted someone less corrupt, more competent in the position?
Your post is all lies.
And just stupid.
That you think a VP just gets up one day, and in a public way goes over seas to push a US policy that does not come out of the WH shows the depths of stupidity you will go to accept a falsehood.
This was NOT ONLY a WH policy but it was one that came out of Congress first via an investigation and committees recommendation on how to deal with the challenges of Ukraine.
It was also in line with the International Monetary Fund, which as a condition of supporting Ukraine wanted the same prosecutor gone. It was also the same with the EU and others.
So to accept your distorted fantasy you have to accept Biden was driving all them without the Obama WH being involved or knowing which only shows how far you will go to delude yourself to accept lies.
More stupidity from you.
Do you think Biden runs HR in Ukraine?
He does not control hiring and you will only find out if the person coming in next will be better or worse over time.
The US would gladly pressure to see Putin removed. But the US also knows what replaces Putin could be either a turn to reforms or potentially much worse autocrats than Putin.
The US would not be able to control who follows, and if that person is worse than Putin, that does not mean the US wanted worse.
So why would they fire him if there was no proof of corruption?
Why was Biden sent there to fire a guy who hadn't been proven to be corrupt?
The only thing he was doing was looking into the business where Hunter worked.
You don't find that suspicious at all?
There are plenty of corrupt politicians in Mexico and we give them aid so why wasn't Biden sent there to have those people fired?
This is beyond obvious.
Then why in that video of him recounting this does he say he'll call Obama and it will happen rather than say Obama's already sanctioned it? Words have meaning, and the way Biden recounts events was he was acting unilaterally and was confident that when he called Obama--or confident that the bluff would work--his actions would get approved. He acted unilaterally.
Shokin wasn't fired because he was investigating a natural gas company tied to Biden's son; it was because Shokin wasn't pursuing corruption among the country's politicians.
Biden wasn't the only world leader calling for Shokin's removal. European diplomats, the International Monetary Fund and other international organizations, also wanted Shokin fired.
After President Poroshenko complained that Shokin was taking too long to clean up corruption even within the Prosecutor General’s Office itself, he asked for Shokin’s resignation
I don't understand why you keep ignoring the obvious facts.
So what about the prosecutors in Mexico who refuse to investigate their politicians?
Why wasn't Biden sent there because their problem is far worse.
Why not send Biden to Afghanistan who is riddled with corruption or Iraq or Nigeria?
All of those are far worse.
Not a single one of you lefties can answer this.

Your version says that our leaders are utter and complete idiots. If they aren't thinking through the possible consequences of their actions we need different people running the country.

LIAR.
Not only did he not act unilaterally, but many of the other groups were already applying that pressure before Biden got involved.
Get off Fox news.
That is your opinion.
In fact, there were several members of the Obama administration calling for Shokin's release, including prominent REPUBLICANS.
Sens. Rob Portman (R-OH), Ron Johnson (R-WI), and Mark Kirk (R-IL), along with several Democratic senators, called for Ukraine’s then-president to “press ahead with urgent reforms to the Prosecutor General’s office and judiciary.” Four days later, Shokin resigned.
I will tell you why.
Because the IMF, members of the EU and members of the Ukrainian Government ASKED for our help.
Has Mexico asked for our help?
What about Afghanistan, Iraq or Nigeria? have they asked for help cleaning up corruption?
So let me if I've got this straight...
You're upset because the Obama administration didn't clean up foreign governmental corruption starting with the countries you wanted.
I will tell you why.
