Odd Time for a "Taxed Enough Already" Movement

Obama cut income taxes for 95% of people. Yep a bunch of your racist got scared and had losses. The market was up for the year if you didn't sell.

If income in 2009 is same as 2008 your taxes went down. All of your deflective attempts are funny as shit.

Again, all of the above has NOTHING to do with what the tea party is protesting you moron. NO ONE IS DISPUTING THAT TAXES WENT DOWN IN 2009.

WHAT PART OF THAT IS SO HARD FOR YOU GED'ers TO COMPREHEND?

The part where they refuse to see, "It's the spending, Stupid!"

freak your retarded 2008 income determines 2008 effective rate ya moron.

What did I write toppy????

My statement was....

2009 EFFECTIVE TAX RATES ARE BASED ON 2008 INCOME DIPSHIT.

Now toppy... do go on telling us who the moron is.

Because the quotes they are stating... in terms of the percent of income paid in 2009 is for the 2008 tax year. There is no way they have compiled 2009 tax returns by now.

you assclowns know I agree with tea baggers on spending. I was against the stimulus, I was against the war spending.
But taxes going down, and a black man taking office gives them the grand wizard defense. NOT A GOOD STRATEGY REPUKES

This is inane, no matter what they run on there will be idiots claiming racism. There is nothing "racist" in protesting spending levels and government minute control.

Faux Buddha, you don't see the connection between Tea Party (taxes) and lower income taxes as being any problem.

ESPECIALLY WHEN THE TEA PARY IS MUCH MORE REPUBLICAN OLD WHITE THAN THE GENERAL PUBLIC.
THEY WERE TONE DEAF SILENT ON SPENDING UNDER BUSH!!!

Taxes at lowest leven since 1950....

Whats all the bitching about?

Or is it just an image they are trying to creat to promote hate for President Obama?>

Tax bills in 2009 at lowest level since 1950

Amid complaints about high taxes and calls for a smaller government, Americans paid their lowest level of taxes last year since Harry Truman's presidency, a USA TODAY analysis of federal data found.
Some conservative political movements such as the "Tea Party" have criticized federal spending as being out of control. While spending is up, taxes have fallen to exceptionally low levels.

Federal, state and local taxes — including income, property, sales and other taxes — consumed 9.2% of all personal income in 2009, the lowest rate since 1950, the Bureau of Economic Analysis reports. That rate is far below the historic average of 12% for the last half-century. The overall tax burden hit bottom in December at 8.8.% of income before rising slightly in the first three months of 2010.

"The idea that taxes are high right now is pretty much nuts," says Michael Ettlinger, head of economic policy at the liberal Center for American Progress. The real problem is spending, counters Adam Brandon of FreedomWorks, which organizes Tea Party groups. "The money we borrow is going to be paid back through taxation in the future," he says.

Individual tax rates vary widely based on how much a taxpayer earns, where the person lives and other factors. On average, though, the tax rate paid by all Americans — rich and poor, combined — has fallen 26% since the recession began in 2007. That means a $3,400 annual tax savings for a household paying the average national rate and earning the average national household income of $102,000.

This tax drop has boosted consumer spending and the economy, which grew at a 3.2% annual rate in the first quarter. It also has contributed to the federal debt growing to $8.4 trillion.

Taxes paid have fallen much faster than income in this recession. Personal income fell 2% last year. Taxes paid dropped 23%. The BEA classifies Social Security taxes as insurance payments and excludes them from the tax calculation.

Why the tax bite has eased:

• Stimulus law. One-third of last year's $862 billion economic stimulus went for tax cuts. Biggest reduction: The Making Work Pay tax credit reduced income taxes $800 for married couples earning up to $150,000.

• Progressive tax rates. Presidents Clinton and Bush pushed through a series of tax changes — credits, lower rates, higher exemptions — that slashed income taxes for poor and middle-class families. A drop in income now can trigger big tax breaks and sharply lower rates, sometimes falling to zero.

• Sales tax. Consumers cut spending sharply in this downturn, thereby paying less in sales taxes.

A Gallup Poll last month found that 48% thought taxes were "too high" and 45% thought they were "about right." Those saying taxes are "too high" remain near a 50-year low.

The lower tax burden should last at least through 2010, says Roberton Williams of the Tax Policy Center, a think tank in Washington, D.C. "Virtually all the stimulus tax cuts expire at the end of the year," he says. "So the key decision is whether to extend them into 2011."

When you filed your taxes this year you got your effective tax rate. That effective tax rate goes into the calculation for what people paid in taxes, but is based on 2009 income.

And AGAIN... the tea party has nothing to do with whether taxes went up in 2009 or not. It is protesting the MASSIVE SPENDING (which you claim you are against) and the FACT that the MASSIVE SPENDING will LEAD TO HIGHER TAXES. Which it WILL.... unless we choose to default on our debt.

This very simply point is what fucking morons who simply like bashing the tea party can't seem to understand.

So tell us toppy... are you going to continue to be one of those morons? Or not?

que the tea bag moron brigade

stock losses, not stock market was up 37% last year on whole
ahh spending not taxes, yup trillions in Iraq didn't get tea baggee's up in arms towards bush.
yeah but we want our country back, back from who? The Black guy. LOFL

yet spending only became an issue under the BLACK president.

Waisting a trilling on the middle east cluster fucks had you rightwing tools thinking you were arm chair dirty harries. Now your worried about spending. OK gotcha
You are wrong. Spending was an issue under the previous President as well, however it didn't become THE issue until the bailout, it took some time to get momentum, then the next President decided to double that down in "Stimulus", then to add onto that the malformation of Health Care without even a perceptible nod towards limiting costs, add to that...

The reality is I've spoken since you've known me about this problem. That it took this long for people to get pissed has nothing to do with pigmentation.... in fact...

It's the spending, Stupid.

I'll tell you after I finish owning you and you make an apology for your remark

The effective rate on 2009 is the taxes actually paid divided by the income for 2009.
You said 2009 effective rate vs 2008 income. In fact you even increased the font to like 100 on your mistake. lol

Wow... two bullshit arguments from you all wrapped into one post?

1) I admit there is partisanship at play, but it is the LEFT that continues to make an issue out of Obama's pigmentation. It is the LEFT that continues to try and make it about his race.... rather than the more obvious party affiliation.

2) You are blatantly wrong about our stance on deficit spending. I have been bitching about the non-stop deficits for over a decade. Sometimes deficits are necessary, but we have now run an actual deficit for FIFTY FUCKING YEARS IN A ROW.

3) When one President raises the deficit by $1.4 trillion in a single year and states that will be a continued trend.. yeah... I am going to get a bit more worked up than I did with Presidents who pumped it up by $1.6 trillion over EIGHT years (like Reagan and Clinton did). I seem to recall the left harping about Bush's record deficits and then blaming Bush for Obama's prediction of continued deficits well in excess of any record Bush set.
