Not only couldn't he find a comparable modern examples of a Democratic Senate nominee, he had to jump in a time machine and travel back decades to find someone who wasn't even a Senate nominee

In 1988, the Democratic-controlled United States House of Representatives took up the case, and Hastings was impeached for bribery and perjury by a vote of 413–3. He was then convicted on October 20, 1989, by the United States Senate, which, at the time, was also controlled by Democrats.

Hastings was also impeached by Democrats, so it’s a very bad example.

Um.. yes. They also elected a president who embraced criminal dictators, attacked his own country, and tried to murder his own VP for not committing a crime he ordered and tried also to murder elected members of congress.

There's a person running for Governor in PA who shuttled terrorists to the 1/6 attack and was there at the time.

I'm not shocked at all by the GOP supporting Walker, after all that. I guess I'm not shocked by anything the GOP does anymore.

Senators seeking to oust him say that conduct makes him unfit to be a senator, but Brown’s lawyer Jill Craft argues that he’s being denied the opportunity to properly defend himself and that senators’ disciplinary efforts go too far for misdemeanor crimes.

Write down a list of modern examples (aka, don't time travel back five decades) of major Democratic nominees for US Senate or President who had serious and sustained allegations of violence and threats against a spouse or GF, and still continued to receive party support.

My question was Senate and presidential nominees. The filter and expectations for those kind of candidates is much higher.

There are enough sleazebags in this country that any number of them can sneak into the house of representatives, state legislatures, city councils, school boards, and boy scout troops..
