Obsession with Politics over?

I have been obsessed with politics for my entire adult life.

Its died...

I have barely any interest since the election.

I didn't lose interest when W won, and to me that was worse, because I strongly believe if the intent of the Florida voters was truly recorded he would not have won.

So, I am left to ponder whats up.

I have a theory... I think I won. I think what I have been striving to prove is finally proven. The election of DJT has illustrated the Republican position as morality police is a clear fraud. The Religious Right capitulated. They supported this person who is a fallen man who has not been "born-again" who is not an evangelical or by many definitions a Christian.

The morality enforcers lined up behind a man who has had numerous affairs, is married to his third wife (a former porn star), Had a child out of wedlock, lies constantly and then laughs about it when it becomes clear...

The RR has capitulated, and I am okay with a Trump presidency, I disagree with a lot of what he is planning and don't see him as an honest or intelligent person, he has no class, but I don't think he is dangerous. His ego will, hopefully prevent him from doing anything too stupid, and maybe some good will come out of a four or eight year dufus presidency. It has already started a much needed re-organizing of the Democratic party which would not have happened if HRC had been elected.

His days of grabbing pussies might be over with. At least when the Mrs. is away. However, bankruptcy filings and creating fake universities will be business adventures his cronies will handle. Any way to save or make a buck.

Gotta say, after the endless rightie moralizing about Clinton since the Monica scandal, it's pretty crazy to see them do a complete about-face and go all "oh, that stuff doesn't matter."

Total hypocrites, the lot of 'em.

They basically ended up admitting it was just politics, those who fell for it are likely embarrassed or in denial.

Maybe, I don't care, its all academic now, to me.

The Culture War is over, the Liberals won.

I'm interested in how you could possibly come to this conclusion, given the complete and total hypocrisy, immorality, and corrupt ethical issues displayed by the democrats over the last 8 years. Perhaps you're actually over politics because you've seen the ugly side of the left establishment and it wasn't what you wanted to believe.

I've always seen the ugly side of the left and of the establishment (two separate things). The difference is that the left never acted holier than though regarding cultural change and "morality"!

She won the popular vote, but there was no serious Republican defection, they came to Trump in the end... they capitulated in the end. They climbed down from their high horse got into the mud and voted for the adulterous letchoeous scoundrel because they cared more about "winning" than the culturally conservative morality high horse.

I don't blame anyone for quitting the DNC. A solid diet of Sour Grapes begins to take its toll on everyone....Finally Acceptance. What were those stages of grief and denial again? :)
