Obama's Speech

This is one where I don't trust the CBO's #'s - and I don't think they do, either.

No one can gauge the impact of reactionary employers laying off or not hiring because of this. What happens if obesity rates double in the next 10 years?

The CBO would have to be very very very severely not-even-close wrong for the ACA to have a meaningful negative impact on the deficit.

Because the questions is not germane to your claims relating to the doc fix. Why can't you acknowledge that the doc fix has nothing to do with the ACA?

Probably because I never stated the current doc fixes had anything to do with the ACA. I used them as a reason that the CBO projections were absurd. Because 'cuts' to Medicare have been a part of law for quite some time, yet every year Congress 'fixes' them. Now the ACA again states that cuts will happen to Medicare and people like you actually believe that will happen.

The ACA makes the cuts (and is thus unlike the tax cuts that you supported that had no actual spending cuts). The ACA has a positive impact on the deficits and debt. It will require an act of Congress to change those provisions. That's not a problem with the ACA, it's a problem with Congress.

Truly. Your basic argument is that the ACA doesn't do good stuff now because Congress might at a later date undo the good the ACA does now. It's tremendously stupid.

ROFLMAO... yeah, just tremendously stupid on my part, it is fundamentally retarded to think as I do. I mean there is nothing that would suggest they are full of crap. No one has ever tried Medicare cuts before only to see 'fixes'. That has never happened, so it is foolish think the ACA cuts will not go through. You are seriously hacktacular.

Obama is a masterful orator. Absolutely masterful. He looks and sounds as presidential as anyone who has ever held the office.

He gave an absolutely convincing, although nuanced speech. I believe it was the best speech he has delivered to date.

So the teleprompter worked perfectly? ;)

I'm not comparing him to Hitler - but Hitler was a masterful orator, as well.

Give me someone with common sense who trips over his words. I'm fine w/ that.

Reagan and Clinton were better orators... and not only did they look and sound presidential, they WERE.
