Guessing? The Mexican government wasn't aware of the operation so that would be a problem right there. It wouldn't help the Mexican government's credibility among Mexican citizens if it was shown it wasn't aware of US involvement. The point being continued harping on it doesn't do either government any good.

As for Obama lying, what did he lie about?

Your assertion is just speculation on your part; but the entire thing can be put to rest, if Obama releases the info and stops hiding behind the Executive Privilige.

We'll never know, unless he follows through on his tranparancy promise and releases the information.

Do we know if anyone in the Mexican government knew anything about it? As I mentioned before maybe the current Mexican President's opponents were somehow involved hoping to stop the drug trade as the current guy isn't too succesful.

While Terry's death is tragic one death doesn't warrant divulging government secrets. Terry's family is aware of the circumstances surrounding his death. What is to be gained by discovering the details of a government operation?

If you recall the Valerie Plame incident was part and parcel of the BIG LIE, how Saddam was buying nuclear material and going to blow up the world and....well, it's 9 years later and US citizens are still paying the price. Do you think F & F is part of a BIG LIE comparable to the war in Iraq?

As I previously asked what part do you think Obama played? In Msg #219 you wrote, “Obama is responsible for the Border Guard being killed and is trying to hide the information.” to which I replied he is responsible to the degree he is the President.

In Msg #53 you wrote, “Because without him releasing the information, it leaves open the question of what part of his own involvement is he hiding?”

Again, I come back to my question, “What part do you think he conceivable could have played?” With wars going on the ME, trouble in other countries, the economy weak….do you really believe he was intimately involved in a few thousand guns going to Mexico?

As Althea wrote in msg #17, “It's no secret that the Bush era gun tracking programs were continued once Obama was inaugurated. The only difference, was that the corrupt Mexican govt. wasn't privy to the information this time around.” and that’s the logical reason for Obama exerting Executive Privilege.

By exposing government secrets/operations nothing will be put to rest. Quite the opposite all because one person was killed. The Terry family is aware of the circumstances involved. Whether what the government tried to do was correct or not what is to be gained from divulging details compared to what may be the down side?

Again, perspective. We’re not talking about outing a covert agent and risking the lives of their contacts and families in foreign countries. We’re not talking about lies involving a war that claimed a thousand US lives. F & F has been blown completely out of proportion.
