Obama's Brackets

Since it has been getting so much coverage in the sports world congrats to Obama for getting zero Final Four selections correct. Of course I can't really mock him seeing that I got zero teams correct myself. In fact the pool I'm in no one picked the winner. Everyone's predicted winner has lost already.

I wonder how many people had VCU/Butler in one of the semi's?

Crazy tounament...

I could not believe we (USC) lost to VCU in the first round now many USC fans want to go after VCU's coach. He's about to become a rich young man.

You would think only someone from VCU would have picked them in the Final Four. An 11 vs. 8 seed. Crazy is right.

I still have Kentucky and UConn alive, with Kentucky in the final. I had Butler and VCU losing in the first round.... OOPS. (though I did pick VCU to beat the pussies of the Pac 10)

As for the messiah's picks... It got old fast listening to and reading about... 'check in on President the One's picks'. In a year where there were no dominant teams, to pick all four number ones to get to the final four shows that Obama used the blind squirrel approach to picking games.

Yea same here. I did great in the first two rounds. I went 26-6 in the first round and 10-4 in the second round but I tanked after that. Only one of my sweet sixteen picks were right and none of my elite eight which means none of my teams made the final four. My bracket is busted!

Same with Butlers head coach. I think he's only 34 yo.

Fixed that for you.

There is NO NEED for you to run around displaying your racist bullshit. I know you are an ignorant piece of shit and you relish in hating others who weren't born with the same pigmentation as you, but outside of your hate filled life, the real world detests racist pieces of shit like you. Now either grow the fuck up and quit your racist ways or shut your mangina

I believe they resigned him this year to a $2 million annual contract this past season. Interesting position he is in. Would you rather move on and take a higher profile job in a better conference or stay with Butler and potentially build a dynasty there?

I can't imagine too many people have more than two teams left so you've done pretty well. After VCU beat the best team in the tournament in that first game I should have gone to Vegas and bet the house on them for the remainder of their games. It was smooth sailing after that.

yeah, I am in the top 1000 on ESPN's brackets and in the top 800 on SI. I can't believe two people actually picked the correct final four on ESPN. Out of the 5791 or so who put VCU in the final four, what do you want to bet at least 5790 are from Richmond?

I heard that he has indicated that he's planning on staying at Butler for the long haul (and was sincere about that).

I think he's really happy there; I respect his position. He could probably take any open Division 1 job in the country, but at a big university/powerhouse, there are all kinds of other pressures & politics. At Butler, he'll still be rich, and will be able to keep that team competitive for a long time w/ the profile he's given them the past few years.

I don't think there is any doubt he's a great coach. There is an excellent chance that Butler will be in the finals 2 years in a row, which is really insane if you think about it...

You've done pretty well. Like you said unless you live in the City or are somehow associated with VCU how would ever pick them? Butler was a long shot as an 8 seed but considering they made it the previous year it's not outragous people might pick them again.

There is definitely something to be said for taking a program with little history and turning it into a national power. For example I don't think Duke had any basketball history before Coach K. In football the same with Bobby Bowden and Florida St I believe.

yeah... especially since every single 'expert' was telling us how they didn't even deserve the play in game slot they received, picking VCU was not going to happen. As for Butler, I picked Old Dominion in part because I had seen them play a couple times this year and in part because the 'experts' thought they had a good shot to be this years Butler. I happened to agree with that line of thinking. Apparently Butler decided to be this years Butler again. :)

I'm torn on the Butler-VCU game. I would like to see both teams win and I definitely will be rooting for the winner of the game in the championship.

Yeah.... right there with you.... as is the rest of the country who is not a UConn or Kentucky fan. I think I shall pull for Kentucky and Butler to win the semi's. Which will make that UConn/VCU title game pretty awesome to watch. :)

Ha! I always figured I'd be a rich man if I had just bet against my picks.
