[h=1]Driver in deadly crash let girlfriend’s son find her body[/h] [h=5]Police suspect intoxicants, speed contributed to fatal Bellevue wreck[/h]
RobertTerranceJacksonJr.jpg

A Bellevue man alleged to have been driving drunk, stoned and speeding during a crash that killed his girlfriend has been charged with vehicular homicide. King County prosecutors say Robert Terrance Jackson Jr. dashed from his Lexus after wrecking near the apartment he shared with Lindsey Hill and Hill’s children. Jackson, 38, is alleged to have left Hill dead at the scene to be found by her 13-year-old son.

Following the Nov. 11 wreck, police found Jackson hiding in the Newporter apartment complex, located at 5900 119[SUP]th[/SUP] Ave. S.E. in Bellevue’s Newport Hills neighborhood, according to charging papers. He has been jailed since.

Writing the court, a Bellevue police officer said Jackson was behind the wheel shortly before midnight when he lost control of the car in the 12000 block of Southeast 60[SUP]th[/SUP] Street. The car slid off the road in a curve and slammed into a utility box.

Hill, 35, was thrown from the car and killed. Investigators contend the car was traveling at more than 60 mph when the crash occurred; the speed limit is 25 mph. Eight hours passed before Jackson was found hiding at the apartment complex, the officer continued. He is alleged to have fought with police, who shocked him with a stun gun.

Investigators contend Hill and Jackson had been clubbing in the hours before the crash. Hill’s older son was left at home to look after his younger brother.

In court papers, Senior Deputy Prosecutor Amy Freedheim said Jackson returned to the apartment after the crash and spoke with Hill’s older son. “The defendant told him he did not know where his mother was and he was going to look for her,” Freedheim said in charging papers. “The 13-year-old ran outside toward where he had earlier heard a boom and found the car crashed and his mother’s body.”

Freedheim said a witness in downtown Seattle saw a man matching Jackson’s description hitting a woman while both were inside a black Lexus. The woman was hanging out the car’s passenger-side window; documents dropped at the scene belonged to Jackson and Hill.

Alcohol and drugs are suspected of contributing to the wreck, according to charging papers. Investigators took a blood sample from Jackson, though no test results are noted.

Jackson, who is jailed in Seattle on $2 million bail, has been charged with vehicular homicide as well as hit-and-run. Due to prior convictions for robbery and assault, he is facing a potential life sentence as a “third strike” offender if convicted as charged.

2 Obama Supporters Charged in Killing of Indianapolis Pastor's Pregnant Wife

Indianapolis police arrested two men Monday in the murder of Amanda Blackburn, a pregnant mother and wife of a preacher who was shot and killed in a home invasion this month.

Larry Taylor, 18, of Indianapolis, was initially charged with murder in the shooting, Sgt. Kendale Adams of the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said, but Marion County prosecutors will decide on final charges.

Larry Taylor and Jalen Watson, arrested in the murder of Amanda Blackburn.

A charging document -- which the prosecutor's spokeswoman, Peg McLeish, said was in the process of being filed with the courts -- states that Taylor will face two counts of murder, murder while in the commission or attempted commission of one of a host of other crimes, burglary resulting in serious bodily injury, robbery resulting in serious bodily injury, two counts of burglary, criminal confinement while armed with a deadly weapon, three counts of theft of property valued between $750 and $50,000, auto theft and carrying a handgun without a license. All but the last charge are felonies.

Later Monday, Marion County Prosecutor Terry Curry announced a second arrest in the murder. Jalen Watson, 21, of Indianapolis faces the same charges as Taylor, with the exceptions that his charging document mentions only two murder charges, where Taylor's includes three, and there are no charges for criminal confinement or carrying a handgun without a license.

Detectives from the IMPD's violent crimes unit worked with the gangs unit and federal marshals to take Taylor in. IMPD Chief Rick Hite praised the cooperation that led to the arrest.

"Our detectives have worked tirelessly, going days without sleep, to solve murders in our city. With the assistance of Assistant U.S. Attorney Josh Minkler and Prosecutor Terry Curry justice will be done!" he said in a statement.

A crime spree

Blackburn was killed at the end of a three-person crime spree, according to newly released court documents that contain information from an unnamed "cooperating individual."

Taylor, Watson and a third man are accused of breaking into a home and stealing car keys, a laptop and an iPhone from the sleeping occupant's bedroom.

At some point during that robbery, the men discovered they were on surveillance video and disconnected the camera, the documents say. Taylor allegedly wanted to kill the occupant because he he had been seen on camera, but Watson and the third man convinced him to leave.

They took off in a stolen car and drove to another home, where they stole televisions, a laptop, the documents say. The three men then turned their attention to a third target -- the Blackburn's home.

There, the documents say, Taylor hit Blackburn in the mouth with a gun and stayed behind as the other two attempted to use her ATM card to get money. He later told others that he killed Blackburn after "she charged at him and he shot her somewhere in the upper body so he would not be scratched."

"Taylor them told them that he leaned over her body and shot her in the back of the head. He leaned further, looked at her face, and watched her bleed," the documents say.

Detroit 91-Year-Old Beaten, Robbed, Set on Fire in Own Home

A 91-year-old man was beaten, then doused with gasoline before he and his home in northwest Detroit were set afire by a burglar, police said. Paul Monchnik, a retired TV repairman, was found dead in his burning home in the 20500 block of Bentler Court around 3 a.m. Monday.

Paul-Monchnik.jpg

"He lived by himself; he was nearly deaf, so he lived in his own little world and got along in his own little world very comfortably," said son Scott Monchnik, 56, who learned Monday morning of his father's brutal death.

Detroit police said they are looking for a suspect who they believe was caught on surveillance cameras buying gasoline at a nearby station. Police said they believe the burglar set the fire in an effort to cover his tracks. “Anybody that can help get this scum off the street, please come forward, and please help. Nobody deserves to be treated the way this punk treated my dad.”

"This is a horrible crime, we’re asking for your help," Police Chief James Craig said at a news conference at police headquarters. "We’re going to do everything we can to identify this person. We do know there was a burglary. We believe during the suspect's entry into this home, there was an attack. However, in order for the suspect to cover his tracks, he decided to leave the location, obtain some gasoline, return and set the victim and home on fire."

Craig said the killer stole the victim's 2000 silver Chevrolet van. "This must end," Craig said. "As we’ve talked about overall crime this year, we’re still on a decline, but it's instances like this, an elderly man who was known by his neighbors, spent all of his life working, providing service in repairing televisions. We’re going to fight hard to identify who's responsible for this."

It wasn’t clear this morning whether Monchnik died as a result of the beating or the fire. An autopsy was conducted this morning to determine the cause and manner of death, said Lloyd Jackson, spokesman for the Wayne County Medical Examiner's Office.

The suspect is described as black, in his early 20s, 5-foot 9-inches, with a medium complexion. He was last seen wearing a red or orange skull cap, with a gray hoodie and University of Michigan basketball pants. The stolen van's license plate is CNU1721.

Louisiana Woman Shot Her Son in the Head, Then Tried to Pretend He'd Kidnapped Her: Police

dora-blake-a-435.jpg

A woman allegedly shot her son and another friend as they were driving home from a casino in Bossier City, Louisiana, on Saturday night, then tried to pretend that she'd been kidnapped, PEOPLE confirms.

Dora Blake, 47, was purportedly celebrating her birthday when she fatally shot her son, 22-year-old Patrick Hollingsworth, in the head and injured the other woman. Authorities have yet to determine a motive, but investigators said Monday that Blake was "quite intoxicated" at the time of the shooting.

"It appears her intoxication played a big role," Bossier Sheriff's Office spokesman Lt. Bill Davis tells PEOPLE.

Hollingsworth was behind the wheel of the car when his mother allegedly opened fire, hitting him and the other woman, who was sitting in the passenger seat. The vehicle then crashed into a tree.

Some Good Samaritans pulled over to help after spotting the car. Blake allegedly told them that she had been kidnapped and had managed to shoot her captors. The witnesses then repeated that story to the sheriff's deputies who arrived to assist with the crash.

But when detectives interviewed the surviving victim, she told them that the three of them had gone to a casino to celebrate Blake's birthday, which was on Sunday. "The lady in the front seat, she told us what had happened," says Davis. "Her son was treating her to a birthday celebration and she ended up shooting him.

He adds: "Why [Blake] did it remains to be seen."

The female passenger is being treated for her injuries and is expected to recover.

Davis tells PEOPLE that Blake had little recollection of shooting her son. "She just seems confused. If she had any ill will towards him, then she was hiding it very well when investigators first interviewed her," he says. "But it does make you wonder: Why would a mom do that?"

Blake was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for her injuries before being booked into the Bossier Maximum Security Facility on a $1 million bond Sunday. She is charged with one count of murder and one count of attempted murder and has not yet entered a plea.

A 32-year-old Mississippi man was arrested Thursday after police say he stabbed his father to death and wounded his mother the previous night in an argument over food.

Ronald Pritchett of Purvis, south of Hattiesburg, was visiting his parents in Gretna, Louisiana, when he became enraged during a dispute about their meal, said the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office.

Ronald Pritchett, 32, is accused of stabbing his parents in a dispute over food. Lamar County Sheriff's Department
The suspect armed himself with a knife and decided to confront his parents, according to a spokesman for the sheriff's office.

Pritchett found the bedroom door locked, so police say he kicked it open and began stabbing both his father, Percival Pritchett, 58, and his mother, Renta, 57.

According to officials, Pritchett's father was found in an upstairs bedroom with multiple stab wounds to the chest. He was pronounced dead shortly after arrival at the hospital.

His mother, whom police found near the staircase on the first floor, suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Pritchett fled the home in his father's 1997 tan Chevrolet Suburban, according to the sheriff's office.

He was apprehended early Thursday after returning to his home in Purvis, and was being held at the Lamar County Jail.

The sheriff's office said Pritchett is expected to be transported to Jefferson Parish on Monday, where he will be booked on one count each of second-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder and auto theft.

Minnesota man, 55, 'kidnapped 19-year-old boy and raped and tortured him for four days in his sex dungeon'

  • Wilbert Glover, 55, is accused of attacking, kidnapping, then raping a 19-year-old boy in his sex dungeon for four days
  • The teen says he was able to escape on November 24 after his attacker left the house by slipping out of handcuffs and smashing a window
  • Police were called after the teen, with bloodshot eyes and soiled clothes, knocked on a neighbors home and asked for help
  • The criminal complaint says Glover injured himself in a holding cell after banging his head on a door frame

Authorities say a 55-year-old man kidnapped a 19-year-old man from a Minneapolis street, took him to his St. Paul home, and kept him chained up while repeatedly sexually assaulting him over four days.

Wilbert%2BGlover%2Bmugshot.jpg

The victim escaped on Tuesday and went to a neighbor’s for help. And on Wednesday, authorities charged Wilbert Glover with kidnapping and criminal sexual conduct.

Glover is being held on $1 million bail and is scheduled to make his first court appearance Monday. Online court records don’t list an attorney for him.

The New York Daily News
reports that the teen, identified just as DNB, was raped for several days after he was kidnapped on November 20.

He told police that he was attacked from behind. The victim tried fighting but eventually passed out and allegedly woke up in Glover's.
The teen said that when he woke up he was chained and blindfolded. When the teen tried removing his blindfold he was maced and told to never remove his mask again.

The teen was allegedly sodomized numerous times and though he never saw his attacker he was able to recognize his voice.

The teen says he was able to escape on November 24 after his attacker left the house. He freed his left wrist from handcuffs, and saw that he was chained to a wall. He was able to break off that chain too.
He turned off all the electricity in the home after finding the breakers and he escaped through a bathroom window after smashing it with a fire extinguisher.

The teen ran to a neighbors home just two blocks away.

'I opened the door and there's this kid just standing there. And he had all these chains and a fire extinguisher,' Tina Meudeking told Kare 11.
She and her husband Garrett were home when the desperate teenager came to their door.

They said the teen wanted to call his mom because he said his abductor threatened he'd go after his family. The abductor said that he had the teens address. 'He said he was attacked from behind and choked until he passed out, and woke up in the basement,' said Tina Meudeking.

When cops arrived at the scene, the teenager was still crying and had extremely bloodshot eyes and was wearing soiled clothes.

Police were able to identify the home by finding the one with the smashed window. When they went to the basement they saw a room with dark painted walls, a mattress on the floor, and a pipe with straps attached.

The windows in the basement were covered with boards and police found a 5 gallon bucket filled with used condoms.
Police confronted Glover who denied living in the home but the landlord told police he had been occupying the house since Oct. 1, 2014.
The criminal complaint says Glover injured himself in a holding cell after banging his head on a door frame.

Illinois Department of Corrections records show Glover was convicted in the 1980s of kidnapping and attempted murder. He was released from prison in 2008.

[h=1]Kansas City man arrested for attacking wife also under investigation 'for murdering son and feeding him to pigs'[/h]
[h=2]Michael Jones is suspected of killing his 7-year-old son and feeding him to his pigs.[/h]
A Kansas City man arrested for attacking his wife is also suspected of feeding his 7-year-old son to pigs after beating him to death.

Michael Jones, 44, was held after reports that he had assaulted his wife at their home and fired a gun at her.

9345801_G.jpg

But when police began investigating, they were tipped off that they should search the family's backyard for the decomposing remains of their missing son.

The next day, human remains were found at a barn on their property in Wyandotte County.

Local women who knew the family said the couple had eight children, but their son had disappeared earlier this year. They also claimed Jones' wife added livestock to the barn in September.

"Their house was horrible," one anonymous woman told WSFA.com. "Their house was just filthy. The kids lived in filth. Trash everywhere. Dried food all over the house.”

Former babysitters for the family say several people contacted the Kansas Department for Children and Families with concerns about the children.

The seven other children are believed to be safe and in protective custody.

A police source said investigators fear the remains are the result of the child being fed to pigs after being beaten to death. The remains have yet to be identified.

Jones is now charged with battering and assaulting his wife on Wednesday, and also with "torturing or cruelly beating" his 7-year-old son sometime between May 1 and Sept. 28.

Jones is expected to have a first appearance in Wyandotte County District Court on Monday.

[h=1]Two arrested for brutal strong-arm robbery in San Francisco[/h]

San Francisco police say they've arrested two men in connection with a brutal strong-arm cellphone robbery that took place last month on Stockton Street.

San Francisco police say they've arrested two men in connection with a brutal strong-arm cellphone robbery that took place last month on Stockton Street.

According to authorities, a 54-year-old man was walking down the street while using his smartphone to look up a map for directions the night of October 26 when he was attacked.

shows the suspects hit the victim and try to steal his phone. The man tried to run away, but the suspects caught up to him, knocked him to the ground, and kicked him while he was down. A woman pushing a baby stroller was seen walking up to stand with the suspects as they lingered around the man after stealing his phone.

Police say the victim, who's a husband and father of three, sustained severe facial injuries which will require reconstructive surgery.

Through an investigation, officials were able to identify two suspects. On Wednesday, investigators and patrol officers from Central Police Station and patrol officers from Ingleside Police Station served search warrants at residences on the 200 block of Hahn Street, the unit block of Brookdale, and the 1800 block of Sunnydale in San Francisco.

Both suspects were taken into custody without incident.

Police say 19-year-old Tristean Duree was taken into custody at the Sunnydale location and 19-year-old Odis Doss was taken into custody at the Brookdale Street location.

[h=1]Mission Hills ex-cons accused of burglary, gun possession in Pasadena[/h]
PASADENA >> Police arrested two convicted felons from Mission Hills in connection with a Pasadena auto burglary early Saturday and seized a loaded handgun from their car, officials said.

Officers conducting a “directed patrol” aimed at suppressing burglaries about 4:50 a.m. spotted a parked car that had been broken into at Colorado and San Gabriel boulevards, Pasadena police Lt. John Mercado said.

They also saw another car driving in the immediate area and pulled it over, suspecting it may have been related to the break-in, he said.

Both the driver, Cornelio Felix, 33, and passenger, Giovanni Prado, 21, were wearing gloves, Mercado said. Police soon discovered that Felix was an ex-convict, and Prado was on Post-Release Community Supervision following a robbery conviction under California’s AB 109 guidelines, which allows “non-violent, non-serious and non-sex offenders” to be dealt with by county jails and probation agencies, rather than state prisons and parole agents.

Mercado said police found a loaded handgun under the passenger seat of suspects’ car, along with burglary tools in the back.

Felix and Prado were both booked on suspicion of burglary, Mercado said. Prado was additionally accused of being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm.

According to county booking records, Felix and Prado were released from custody later in the morning pending their initial court appearances after posting $20,000 and $50,000 bail, respectively.
