Obamacare is even less liked now than at its birth 3 years ago - and it was scarcely well-loved then. Only 37% of Americans support the law while 40% oppose it, according to the Kaiser Family Foundation's tracking poll.
Ever since the law passed, its liberal fans have claimed it will surge into popularity. Why hasn't that happened? One major reason is the law has so far done nothing, because its implementation was delayed by 4 years.
Even once implemented, the benefits might not be immediately visible. "Implementation is likely going to be a mess," writes Jon Walker at liberal blog FireDogLake. Plus with many states refusing to build their own healthcare exchanges, the cost to the federal government to build the exchanges has soared, and it's not clear how it'll be paid for. The federal exchanges will require vast, complicated computer systems, which are unlikely to work seamlessly, as even the law's advocates admit.
