Obama spent 7 BILLION on education program that had no impact

The report, though, focused on data from nearly 500 schools in 22 states that received SIG funding, and concluded the program had “no significant impact” on reading or math test scores; high school graduation; or college enrollment.

“Overall, we found that the SIG program had no impact on student achievement,” co-author of the report Lisa Dragoset told Fox News.

The authors are “non-partisan” researchers in the Education Department, according to Tom Wei, project officer from the department’s Institute of Education Sciences.

Great job Obama! Hopefully Trump can do as well as you.

Yep, you can throw all the money you want at publics schools but it means nothing if the parents, or most likely parent (singular) are not involved. So many communities have turned their education systems into babysitters who can do nothing, they are powerless, ineffective 'authority' aka parental figures.

From the article:

Charter schools, at the heart of the school choice movement, are publicly funded schools run by independent groups. President Trump has suggested pumping an additional $20 billion into school choice -- with the funds redirected from existing federal accounts.

The Trump/DeVos approach faces scrutiny from some Democrats, who chided DeVos during her confirmation hearing and suggested charter schools are held to a different standard.

I don't know if they are held to a different federal standard but I am sure they a held to a much higher standard by the parents (plural), that does matter. Who wouldn't want to send their kids where education was the purpose of school?

Okay, so you have a school or charter school where all the kids want to go, how big is the school going to get? Think San Diego for instance. Every parent wants their kid to go to Pacific High or Point Loma for public schools, but only those in the district can. So, can a poor black or hispanic kid from south of 8, go to that school?
