Obama sees red

President Barack Obama's campaign spent more than it took in over the month of May despite his frenetic fundraising schedule, leaving the massive operation with just shy of $110 million dollars cash on hand against $115 million one month earlier.
The embattled incumbent scooped up a hair over $39 million dollars but spent nearly $44.6 million, according to a formal filing with the Federal Election Commission. A more detailed breakdown can be found here.

All that with generally free transportation. All he needs is a legitimate reason to be in an area (speech for some policy somewhere, sign a bill, etc.) and the trip to near Wisconsin is free, he then does the speech and hits up six nearby areas for fundraisers...

Yet still making less than he's spending. Wow. I never would have thought... Wasn't it predicted he'd have over a billion to spend on this campaign?

Get rid if Citizen's United, reign in amount a politician is allowed to spend on campaign, you won't have tis problem.
Corporation's own our government, Good King George is having a good laugh on us.

I am all for limiting the super Pac unlimited contributions, but only if you also limit the union contributions. There is no way they should be allowed to contribute millions while telling their corp counterparts they cannot. On the public union side, as long as they 'negotiate' with the people being elected, they too should be limited.

Let anyone donate as much as they want, just require that it be public. I think that would solve the problem.

I agree, union spending should be limited, all contributions should be limited. Our politicians have to spend all their time fund raising these days, instead of taking care of business and it shows!

LOL

Its all those racist rich white liberals that are no longer donating to Obama, they came out of their guilt ridden fog of 2008 and realized he is an idiot and does not have a clue.

i have no problem if people want to limit organizational spending on campaigns, if you include every single organization. my problem is that liberals always blame only corporations. it is sometimes after unions get brought up, they say...oh yeah...them too.

what about political parties?
