Obama says Police acted stupidly!

Anybody who feels wronged by cops has the right to be shitty .. and last I looked, being shitty is not against the law. There is nothing holy about cops.

Question: Do police get arrested for yelling and swearing at citizens?

If your argument is there is no racism by police and police departments .. you're in desperate need of another argument.

Police officers ROUTINELY abuse non-white citizens.

Here is a news flash for ya BAC Police officers ROUTINELY abuse white citizens also

I grew up in NJ Bac had lots of trouble with the law there, but as a got older I realized they are going to win, and have found that if ya show them respect the ordeal will usually go quicker

Obama is our president, he can't be the police chief the General in the war and so on, he needs to just do his thing

My argument is NOT that there is or isn't racism in the police department, it never has been, as a matter of fact I think Obama turned it into a race issue, I am white and I got pulled into the scales last week and got a ration of shit and a over weight ticket, no mention from Obama?

because there is police brutality on whites means it can't be racism when it's directed at blacks. OK I got it.

Wow, LOL lets try this 1 more time, the title of this thread reads

Obama says Police acted stupidly!

What I am saying is Obama had no reason to put his 2 cents in, and yes then the subject of race came up, my question and or reply is whites get harassed also , if it is ok for Obama to comment on this then why not on all crimes, OK maybe now you can get it, but I doubt it

Obama responded to a question. That's the reason he put his 2 cents in. If he were asked about other crimes I imagine he would respond to those questions as well.

the Hugo himself is setting back race relations in this country more than AL Sharpton...it was despicable what he did last night..

He should of said I don't know all the details and then said he'd refrain from commenting...

he put down doctors, police, insurance companies and the American citizens..who the hell didn't he put down last night..

A question he didn't know all the facts about, hmmm I think he said that him self, LOL

For a President to criticize the police without all the facts is stupid, well to most people anyway

Obama is a very intelligent human being he knew not to comment without all the facts, but as BAC posted he is starting to look like a pussy to the black race so he jumped on this to pull himself up, that isn't good no matter how ya cut it

I do not belive Obama should have weighed in on the specifics of this incident.

After reading the police report, I belive the police could have and should have avoided arresting this guy.

while it may not be a crime, it certaintly could lead to arrest in this situation if the guy could not prove he was properly and legally in the house.....further, he was not arrested for not producing ID....get your facts straight

I never said he was.

Again, BULLSHIT. While you have the RIGHT to say anything you want, that does not mean you are FREE from CONSEQUENCES of what you say. If a cop is issuing you a ticket and you start screaming and berating him/her, you are going to be arrested. They do NOT have to put up with your bullshit. It is a misdemeanor charge, but they have every RIGHT to arrest you for disorderly conduct.

and yes, you are berating them, calling them stupid over and over again for doing their jobs is berating them.

If you quietly call a cop stupid, without drawing a crowd, there is no crime. You have the right to express your opinion all you want, without legal consiquences. One simply cannot do it in a disorderly way!

If there was a witness reporting a burglary, the cop would have needed to see ID before leaving.

If your home was being broken into while you were on vacation, and a neighbor called the cops, would you want the burglar to be able to say "I live here" and the cops just walk away?

I know in Alabama if a law enforcement office asks you for ID you are required to present it.

Not in your own home. And even in Alabama, if a cop does not have a reason to ask for your id, you do not have to provide it. They might can arrest you for loidering... But what are they going to arrest you for if you politly say, no, and keep walking...?

Umm if someone reports a burglary at that residence a cop would be derelict in his duty to not ask for ID.

A 60 year-old man who walks with a limp with a limo in his driveway hardly makes a good burgulry suspect .. and when Gates produced his ID the cop should have apologized and left the mans home.

I agree, but you are not commiting a crime if you refuse. You have the right to say no, and go about your business.

I agree!, and Gates should have been polite to the cop who was doing his job.

so you're happy with saying 'yes sir' to the nice officer violating your rights because it ends quicker?

Gates would have cooperated instead of acting irrationally if the cop had been black. It's clear that he's the racist here. *shrug*
