Obama passing the buck?

The administration rejected suggestions that the federal government was slow to act in dealing with the spill and expressed frustration with BP's inability to seal the ruptured well head. The government approved the start of drilling for a relief well and was considering approving a second one as industry and government officials worked on multiple fronts to contain the slick.

imagine if bush would have said virtually the same thing, but instead expressed frustration with mayor nagin and governor blanco

Is that a quote from Obama?

Did he say anything like, "Brownie, you're doin' a heckuva job?"

Pathetic strawman, btw - even for you. BP is to absolutely be condemned for skimping on the valve.

it is not a strawman, you're just desperate to defend obama at all cost...unless you show the link is false in what the administration said, i'll stand by post. when the shit hit the fan, but took full responsibility, mentioning brownie is simply partisan nonsense. already obama is saying their doing a good job (so akin to brownie if you really want to go there) and expressing frustration with BP....ie, blaming them while congratulating themselves....

It is ABSOLUTELY a strawman, and a bad one. You think that is comparable? "Expressing frustration with BP's inability to fix the ruptured well head"?

Frankly, I have to commend their restraint. This ALL COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED if BP invested in a valve for this kind of contingency, and if some oil industry lobbyist didn't keep it from being mandated.

do you even know what a strawman is? obviously not....

if we take your ludicrous apologist attitude all the way to its illogical conclusion....MUCH OF THE TRAGEDY IN N.O. COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED HAD NAGIN AND THE GOVERNOR EVACUATED PEOPLE

for anyone who isn't blinded by partisan politics, its clear as day the difference in public opinion, media reporting, on this tragedy vs. the n.o. tragedy....

Your lack of self-awareness is hilarious.

Where am I defending Nagin? His response was pathetic. So was that of Bush & the Feds.

And so is BP's skimping on the valve - just look at the cost.

That's the strawman. I don't even know what you're trying to compare. This is beyond a stretch, even for your usual "if Bush did this" Obama gotcha's.

?

what is the strawman, that BP is skimping on the valve? i never said they weren't and i nver said you defended nagin....this is about public opinion, media reporting and overall blame....

bush wholly recieved the bulk of the blame, don't deny that...where as here, obama is saying his admin is doing just fine, despite this oil spill becoming more a tragedy day by day and then obama blames BP by showing frustration

as i said, imagine if bush, instead of taking full responsibility, had come out and say, the admin is doing fine, its nagin and blanco we're frustrated with

turn off your partisan specks for jsut on second onceler

Bush received a lot of the blame because he said 2 days before the hurricane hit that the Feds were ready for anything, because he promoted a crony with no emergency experience to the head of FEMA, and because he was slow to respond to the clearly growing crisis when he was at his ranch.

STRAWMAN

And saying "Brownie" was doing a good job is the same as saying the admin is doing fine.

Like I said, I don't even know what you're trying to compare.

i guess you really don't know what a strawman is and all you have is more apologists attitude

Couldn't address or deny one thing that I wrote about Bush in there, eh?

what for? you actually proved my point in this thread....you are so eager to blame bush, yet so eager to defend obama for virtually the same thing

it doesn't matter what bush said before katrina, sure, he is as fault for picking brownie...none of that negates the fact that bush was nearly entirely blamed, called a racist for saying things were going well and even you are still harping on him for being slow

yet obama, how has taken longer than bush which you readily criticized him for....(and the ranch, stupid onceler, as if the president can't be president outside of the WH and we all know you defend obama outside the WH)

seriously, take a step back and do your best to objectively look at what you've said and look at the responses to the two events and where the blame is laid

"what for? you actually proved my point in this thread....you are so eager to blame bush, yet so eager to defend obama for virtually the same thing"

That's an insane thing to say, in light of the facts, which I listed. Absolutely insane.

The eagerness here, as always, is with you, and your constant need to compare apples to oranges when it comes to Bush & Obama, to try for some sort of "gotcha."

imagine if bush would have said virtually the same thing, but instead expressed frustration with mayor nagin and governor blanco

Abso-fricken-lutely! Everything, including NATURAL DISASTERS, in one way, shape, or form was blamed on Bush.

i had hoped you would step back and at least try to look at this objectively....oh well, better buy a lottery ticket, have more luck with that

Show me the mistakes Obama has made on BP & in the response to this that are comparable to the Bush mistakes I cited.
