What part of "content of character" means, "Just by his pigmentation alone he deserves...."?

Total and utter rubbish. No man deserves such things because of pigmentation.

I must have missed the "proof" here. Because someone suggests he should be on Mt. Rushmore, it's proof that he was elected because he's black?

He is completetly qualified and will do a great job I think.

It is greatness of action, what they did that got them there. Just being elected while black is not momentous enough to get you on Rushmore.

He will get many monuments. That one is reserved for something better than just pigmentation.

I'm not saying he'll never get there, only that his election alone is not enough to get him there.

Damn near an insult to Obama and other blacks saying he should be there strictly for his skin color.

I think the other compelling reason is to piss off southerners and other conservatives.

Obama will do amazing things in office. Eventually, he'll have substantive reasons to be up there. Until then, those are the two best reasons I can think of. Put him right next to Lincoln to symbolize the realization of a dream and American ideals of equality and what not. Also piss off the conservos who want Reagan up there for whatever reason. You can't lose.

Are you really going to try and argue the nuance of the two words? You clearly say he should be on Mount Rushmore because he is black. It makes no reference or even inference to what he will do in the future.
