Obama messes up his daughter's age

WASHINGTON (AP) — They grow up so fast. But not that fast, Mr. President.

In a news conference Wednesday, President Barack Obama twice referred to his oldest daughter, Malia, as being 13 years old.

Not quite. She's 12.

I'd put this up to the above. What doesn't deserve a pass would be the MOH recipients. That was not a gaffe. Nor has he taken the hits that others would have for such a horrible mistake.

when it is a con you're quick to pounce on gaffes like this one, when it is a lib, you're quick to excuse them. if you paid attention at all, you would know i think simple gaffes like this happen all the time in both private and public speaking. it is the public speakers that get the most attention. i think gaffes like this are meaningless. but know, you of course assume the worse.

hack of the year award. i have never seen onceler once put down the HUNDREDS of threads and posts that mock cons for verbal gaffes. but oh no, when it is a lib....it is a sad thread. there are literally dozens of threads about palin and bachman, posts constantly about bushisms....but those aren't sad, because they are about cons.

I reject the "if this was someone on the right" argument, which is Yurt's purpose on the board. In my opinion, humble as it may be, righties suffer from an advanced persecution complex.

I don't see Obama getting a free pass on much in his Presidency. He had the media and the whole "the One" thing during the campaign, but it would be absurd for someone to argue that he is getting any kind of special treatment now. He gets lambasted every day, by all sides.
