Islam is a murderous ideology. You people who think you're intelligent and enlightened for being stupid about it are ..... just stupid.

Just stop it. The idea that it is a "murderous ideology" is so backward - I find it embarassing that someone would even say that. There is a radical element to Islam, and that's it.
If it was a "murderous ideology," we wouldn't be able to keep up with the death rate in the world; we'd be extinct in no time. Do you know how many Muslims there are worldwide?
Onzies, you picked a real winner of a religion to start believing in, that's all I can say!
We'd like him to state if he thinks it should be built, not "hem and haw" about legalities. Does he think it is a wise choice? The right choice? His cowardice causes the controversy, what he doesn't say is the catalyst.
Good Christians, just loving their enemies and turning the other check, forgiving and showing they are Christians by their love!Hate to say it, but Obama has been a wuss on this. He has waffled & weaved, and come out looking like a typical politician.
Aside from Scarborough & a few posters on this board, I have been disgusted with pretty much everyone on this issue. What an eye opener, especially on this board. I know what to expect of the Dixie's, but I've been surprised at the thoughts of some of the more reasonable posters here with regard to the mosque & Muslims in general....
So Dixie, you agree thus far with the words President Obama has expressed on this issue, right?
No Jarhead,
So, you are guessing, since he hasn't said and you just said so. In my opinion, he has stated the Presidential position and not his personal position which is how the Republicans usually believe it should be, I thought, but maybe your party has changed its position on these matters, like feelings, and sensitivity! and those things, being PC, the GOP hated being PC.No Jarhead, I don't agree with the words Obama expressed, because the words expressed an acceptance and full support for a mosque at ground zero. I think that's why it's such an issue now. As we've pointed out to your stupid ass, the question of legality has never been at issue here. The ONLY debate, is whether or not this is the right thing to do, and Obama believes (as do you) that it IS the right thing to do, because he hasn't said it's NOT the right thing to do.

The personal opinion of the President, whether he wants it to or not, holds a bit more water for many people than the opinion of those in other positions with less power. He is not the "judge", in fact nobody is in this case. Nobody argues that they cannot legally build the Mosque. So you are attacking him for thus far not taking a position on the issue?
That I understand....
I disagree with you because once it is clear that the Government is not allowed to take any action against them, why would his personal opinion matter?
In fact it could be a conflict of interests... If you have taken an oath to Protect and Defend the Constitution, then take a position contrary to what is required by the Constitution you have a conflict of interest.
If I had a Judge that told me, legally you are right and should win, but I disagree personally... Id be pretty upset about him administering the law in that case.

See Damo, Dixie does not agree that "Muslims have the same right to practice their religion as everyone else in this country"
That's not what I said you fucking retard. Can you not read either?
No one has said Muslims don't have the right to practice their religion! No one has said they don't have the right to build a mosque at ground zero! The issue is, whether it is APPROPRIATE to do so! You want to wrap yourself in Freedom and the Constitution, and say that it IS APPROPRIATE, while I am saying it is NOT APPROPRIATE, in spite of it being legal and constitutional.
Again, this President sees no problem using that platform on other controversial issues, it is his cowardice as he tries to avoid voicing his opinion on this one, yet was so willing to speak out on the subject, that surrounds him with false "controversy" on this issue.True, but the personal opinion should not always be shared.
Or, maybe he has learned from his past mistakes and that is a good thing!Again, this President sees no problem using that platform on other controversial issues, it is his cowardice as he tries to avoid voicing his opinion on this one, yet was so willing to speak out on the subject, that surrounds him with false "controversy" on this issue.

Obviously not. Had he learned from his past he would not have taken up the subject to begin with. His display of cowardice as he attempted to crawfish out of it without taking any position causes his problems today.Or, maybe he has learned from his past mistakes and that is a good thing!
