Obama's words are the words of a commander in chief, speaking to the troops. They were well chosen, and perfectly understandable.
I explained to you, in some fairly good detail, why it makes absolutely no sense to heap praise upon Bush, for ANYTHING related to Iraq.
Obama most certainly did not say "Bush's Iraq policy resulted in an extraordinary achievement." That's so dishonest, it's hardly worth addressing. The only points you can make are based on lies & distortions, which is a very sad thing.
Little sissy? Hey...that's an ad hominem!
By your own standards, that means you're admitting a "loss" on this one. Thanks.
When you think of Hitler, is your first thought to praise him for Germany's economic resurgence in the 30's?
I know, I know - "Oh my God...you're comparing Bush to Hitler!" I am not. I am comparing how we arrive at conclusions about leaders.
Bush rushed into a war with lies & exaggerations; millions were displaced, hundreds of thousands killed. As I have repeatedly said, it would be absolutely fantastic if the one good thing to come out of this mess - BUSH'S mess - was democracy & a better life for Iraqis.
Your tunnel vision about giving Bush "credit" for this is the only hackery I can see.

As long as we keep things in perspective......
No matter what the outcome, the conflict in Iraq will never approach the debacle Democrats gave us in Vietnam....bad enough the US dead and wounded, but in the end we even lost the war....
what do you think 2009 would look like if we had "won" the war in Vietnam? Would we be peaceful trading partners with Vietnam? Would Vietnam be independent from China? Would Vietnam not participate in exporting communist insurgencies around the region?![]()
Well dude...I really don't know.....don't have a crystal ball and can't imagine how a US win in that war could have influenced the entire world in those next 30 years.....the variables are realistically in the hundreds plus....the possibilities are countless...
Its a different topic all together....not relevant to this thread...
then why the hell did YOU bring it up?![]()

I make no mention about what the world would have or could have looked like 30 years after the Vietnam war...
Is your fuckin' reading comprehension that of a deranged lunatic ?
In a nutshell....
The Iraq war will never approach to debacle of the Vietnam war...in dead, in wounded, or in monetary cost....
At least we won the Iraq war in 21 days of warfare, while losing the Vietnam war after years of constant, heavy fighting.....
why bother with him.....
did any US president ever go to vietnam and say:
"this is an extraordinary achievement"
Vietnam is a fairly peaceful country today; a tourist destination, and trading partner.
bingo...That's the new bumper sticker slogan for Bushies?
Iraq - hey, it was bad, but it wasn't really quite as bad as Vietnam...
And 30 fuckin' years from now we can make an observation about how Iraq faired....
PWNing you clowns is getting ridiculously easy......
Vietnam is a fairly peaceful country today; a tourist destination, and trading partner.
bingo...
and my guess is, 30 years from now, the ramifications of our invasion of Iraq will be a LOT worse than our foray into Vietnam.
As of today, Vietnam is a peaceful trading partner of ours and a country with which we have full diplomatic relations... they are NOT a vassal of China and, unlike what the hawks were telling us then, they did NOT become another hot bed of communism and export communist insurgencies around the area. I can't imagine a MUCH better outcome than that, 30 years down the road, if we had "won" in Vietnam.
