The Obama administration adamantly opposes legalizing marijuana and has a dubious view of medical marijuana, a top White House drug policy adviser said here Thursday night.

Kevin Sabet, special adviser for policy at the White House’s Office of National Drug Control Policy, said marijuana is a dangerous drug that causes documented health and social problems, and should not be subject to voter approval for its use.

“Marijuana cannot be the one exception in history of the world that doesn’t go through a scientific process to be approved as medicine,” he told the Montana Supreme Court Administrator’s annual drug court conference in Helena. “It doesn’t make any sense.

“How can we imagine that a dangerous, illegal drug like marijuana should be voted on by the people? That’s not how we do medicine in this country.”
 
Obama is an assclown on this issue. Why? He's afraid of the Republican machine.

He has said he's for the states deciding. How can someone who mocked Clinton with "I inhailed frequently, that was the point" take the position of it being dangerous. He knows better but is a huge pussy.

Then he should at least avoid the issue. I understand that politicians often are forced to take a weak position on an issue to avoid a backlash from voters. But here he is actively working against what he claimed to support.
 
The assclowns who get billions in funding to stop it have to protect thier jobs. Cali is going to pass prop 19. There will be a flood of other states to follow. They will get billions in tax revenue from existing tokers. Does anybody really think that many adults will start smoking. I don't, but millions will be glad to buy it and pay the tax.
 
the war on drugs is too profitable for the feds to leave to the states. The feds have to have a way to produce criminals out of peacable non violent americans.

I can think of about 1,000 things that are legal & usually at Wal-Mart that are much, much more dangerous than marijuana. Coffee is more dangerous than marijuana.

any attempt to apply a prohibition against coffee will be met with serious second amendment remedies.

I'm sorry to burst your bubble, Mr. Whatever, but I'm not using it for medicinal purposes. And it if you think it's "dangerous" you need to have your medical license revoked.
 
Politicians would be smart to legalize marijuana. A stoned population wouldn't care as much.

The drug cartells fund their campaigs for goodness sakes.

The beer companies are a major player ($) in the "Partners for a Drug Free America" BS we've had to watch on TV, and listen to on the radio for God knows how long. All to stop compitition as it were, and they also send money to their campains.

Not to mention the legal drug industry. They too send their money.

What about the plastics industry? Hemp is much cheaper than nylon, and polyester.

Assclown, please review recent votes on MJ. The usual playbook it 80% repubs against. Palin is one of the few along with Paul for decrim. Please show me where I said no dems were against legalization. Idiot.:eek3:
