didn't he say some time ago that he wasn't going to do this?

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) -- Federal prosecutors have launched a crackdown on pot dispensaries in California, warning the stores that they must shut down in 45 days or face criminal charges and confiscation of their property even if they are operating legally under the state's 15-year-old medical marijuana law.

In an escalation of the ongoing conflict between the U.S. government and the nation's burgeoning medical marijuana industry, California's s four U.S. attorneys sent letters Wednesday and Thursday notifying at least 16 pot shops or their landlords that they are violating federal drug laws, even though medical marijuana is legal in California. The attorneys are scheduled to announce their coordinated crackdown at a Friday news conference.

bet you'll still vote for him though, won't you?

Without a doubt they will vote for Obama again, Monkey See, Monkey Do.

Medical marijuana dispensaries will no longer be prosecuted, U.S. attorney general says

March 19, 2009|Josh Meyer and Scott Glover
WASHINGTON AND LOS ANGELES — U.S. Atty. Gen. Eric H. Holder Jr. said Wednesday that the Justice Department has no plans to prosecute pot dispensaries that are operating legally under state laws in California and a dozen other states -- a development that medical marijuana advocates and civil libertarians hailed as a sweeping change in federal drug policy.

:lies:

So allowing the sale of medical marijuana is the most important issue to be considered in deciding which candidate to vote for?

How do you think he got as many votes as he did in 2008?

And if he cannot keep a simple promise that he made in 2009, why should the voters believe him on anything else he says?

So when you and the rest of the libtards pulled Obama's name in 2008, you must have done it because he was black, because we all know it was not because he had any real experience to speak of.

are you assuming i vote republican or support perry?

I didn't say that, did I, jaw jacker?

I asked if the Patriot Act, rendition, waterboarding, due process and the 5th Amendment are good reasons to vote for the party that will nominate Perry.

What is he trying to do? I don't get this move. It won't draw any conservatives to his side, it doesn't help him with his base... What good is this?

This is really BS. I don't get their drug policy at all. What's the point of going after these shops? This is a major step backward, and really depressing.

The more I read about this, the more it ticks me off.

I was never really a gitmo guy, and I definitely wasn't a Patriot Act guy, so those things didn't bug me. I understood having to clean up the mess in Iraq; we made it.

Afghanistan was much fuzzier, and I did & do think it's wrong that we have remained there as long as we have.

Now this. To me, this is a pathetic backtrack on policy, and is single-handedly destroying incremental progress that has been made on the marijuana issue. This is actually worse than anything that happened under Bush on this front.

In short, Obama just lost my vote.

The very truly sad thing, there is no one else that deserves my vote. There is usually a third party candidate that announces, I will have to wait and see .
