New York City education, housing, and immigration officials Friday promised a coordinated, cross-agency effort to enroll more than 1,000 recently arrived migrant children in public school before classes start next month.

The plan, “Project Open Arms,” follows a New York Daily News story detailing concerns from some advocates and staffers that the city wasn’t moving urgently enough to accommodate the influx of new arrivals, many of whom came on buses sent by Texas Gov. Greg Abbott.

“Our city has always stood with those in need of refuge and shelter, and this administration will continue that proud legacy,” schools chancellor David Banks said Friday. “Our schools are ready and excited to welcome our newest New Yorkers to class on September 8.”

Why the fuck should US tax-payers be funding the costs of educating ILLEGAL immigrants? An ILLEGAL immigrant is an alien who is NOT SUPPOSED TO BE IN THE COUNTRY, FULL STOP. Right ? I don't geddit? Could someone please explain what I am not understanding here ?

If you rock up in Australia as an ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT you get your poxy ass kicked right out of the country immediately - no "ifs or buts" about it. Your OUT brother, BIG TIME.

You dumb Yanks are commiting cultural suicide! WTF is wrong with you lot ? I almost can't bear watching it anymore. It's just too tragic... Pretty soon now the USA is going to start looking like Latin America; and all the Whitey Yanks will be forced by the government to take mandatory Spanish lessons!

Illigals are better than citizens, as proven by the fact that they have more privileges.

It costs $62k to send a kid to Phillips Academy... AND nothing to send a kid to Stuyvesant. The city will even pay for the subway transportation.

"AND nothing to send a kid to Stuyvesant."

And the student receives nothing from Stuyvesant, Walter.

Poor Walter.

Seriously, your (American) politics is crazy, Hawkeye. You never know what is going to happen next - what outrageous scandal, what conspiracy, what major crisis !! It's allvery entertaining, but ...ermm...a lot of it is very serious stuff that's no laughing matter (?)

I really like your comment at the bottom of your posts. You have a very good understanding, IMHO, of the mentality of the radical, progressive left in the US (that's rare !). I am sending you a response to what you say.

Such an ignorant southern rube

Stuyvesant is a top rated, public high school in lower Manhattan, considered by many to be the “crown jewel” of the NYC public school system. With over 3000 students, Stuyvesant is known for its rigorous academics, unique course offerings, and exciting extracurriculars. It attracts both top students and top teachers. Stuyvesant, along with other similar schools, has regularly been excluded from Newsweek's annual list of the Top 100 Public High Schools. The May 8, 2008, issue states the reason as being, "because so many of their students score well above average on the SAT and ACT."U.S. News & World Report, however, included Stuyvesant on its list of "Best High Schools" published in December 2009, ranking 31st. In its 2010 progress report, the New York City Department of Education assigned it an "A", the highest possible grade

Brooklyn Technical High School, commonly called Brooklyn Tech and administratively designated High School 430, is an elite public high school in New York City that specializes in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. It is one of three original specialized high schools operated by the New York City Department of Education, along with Stuyvesant High School and the Bronx High School of Science. Brooklyn Tech is considered one of the country's most prestigious and selective high schools. Brooklyn Tech is ranked #6 in New York City and #46 overall in the United States for college readiness and graduation rates. Brooklyn Tech counts top scientists, inventors, innovators, Fortune 500 company CEOs and founders, high-ranking diplomats, academic scholars, literary and media figures, professional athletes, National Medal recipients, Nobel laureates, and Olympic medalists among its alumni.

Families escaping violence and persecution in Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Haiti, Venezuela, Cuba, Nicaragua, and other countries in crisis have undertaken a dangerous journey to seek safety in the United States.

People arriving at the U.S. border have the right to request asylum without being criminalized, turned back or separated from their children—even during a pandemic. Here’s how the process works:

They can seek asylum in the first country the set foot in, Mexico. They even have a common language there.

Thanks.....I am a Progressive though I was raised conservative.....and I have spent this entire life trying to learn which almost no one does anymore so I do have some advantages in being able to understand how catastrophic this WOKE Revolution is. But I am serious when I say that America is now the land of the ignorant coward, it is not that I am so great, it is more that my fellow Americans suck.

This does not end well.

BTW: My sig changes constantly.....I am Zen, I go with the flow, I operate by instincts....I never know when it will change or what it will be next.
