New York is a border state. Beyond that, New York City is one of the biggest air ports of entry. Beyond that, it is the destination of huge numbers of illegal aliens.

Actually, we do count illegal aliens as members of the population. If for 10 years, Eagle Pass got 2,000 new people a day, that would be a major city of 7.3 million. It would be the second largest city in America, and about to become the largest city in America. It is a tiny place, only 9.49 square miles, so it would have a population density of 770,000 per square mile. Even Manhattan(the central part of NYC) only has 75,000 per square mile (one tenth what you claim Eagle Pass has).
Eagle Pass would need to be one of the most built up/sky scrappered places on earth. Every square inch of land would have to be covered by at least 200 stories of building. We need to take a look at this miracle of extreme building:
