Publicly reported nursing home death data in New York may have undercounted the actual deaths related to those facilities by as much as 50 percent, the state's attorney general said.

Letitia James' office has been investigating nursing homes since last year and released its initial report Thursday.

"Among those findings were that a larger number of nursing home residents died from COVID-19 than the New York State Department of Health’s (DOH) published nursing home data reflected and may have been undercounted by as much as 50 percent," the office said in a statement.

I wish people were as concerned about the 439,000 as they are about Cuomo’s nursing home deaths. They are so willing to condemn him, but not Trump.

hey, you are only the third fox/trump stooge to post this. must be sad to have only one possible gotcha story a day to repeat.

There is no comparison.

Cuomo has always made his decisions based on the best information that was available AT THAT TIME. In the beginning of a new virus, there wasn't that much of that information. He made a mistake, which was tragic, but he owned up to it and more importantly, ADJUSTED policy based on new information.

Trump denied and distracted the whole time, never advocated even basic common sense measures, generally made recommendations that were NOT consistent with prevailing science, and even pursued super-spreader events that flew in the face of factual information and sound advice.

why do you hold Trump responsible for 439k deaths?
Oh that's right -because it's partisan hackery.

Remember when Biden said the China ban was "xenophobic " and racist" ???
how many people would he have killed?

he did NOT own up to itthe..guess whom he blamed? TRUMP DID IT!!

Not much new there when you compare it to the story from August -

https://www.nbcnewyork.com/news/loc...g-home-death-toll-cloaked-in-secrecy/2561257/

It doesn't seem like Cuomo has much to answer for since the deaths have been reported as deaths just not as deaths in nursing homes since the people were transported to hospitals and died there.

New York only counts residents who died on nursing home property and not those who were transported to hospitals and died there.
...
That statistic could add thousands to the state’s official care home death toll of just over 6,600.
...
For all 43 states that break out nursing home data, resident deaths make up 44% of total COVID deaths in their states, according to data from the Kaiser Family Foundation. Assuming the same proportion held in New York, that would translate to more than 11,000 nursing home deaths.

Remember when fox was saying it was a democrat hoax?

Remember when fox said Benghazi was worth reinvestigating over and over and over and over and over.......

Remember When fox said the banks were fine before they crashed

Remember when fox said Sadam did 911

Remember when fox said Romney would win by five points

Why do people still believe the ass emissions from Fox?

Cuomo is a master at blame-shifting -aided by a servile press

Nearly every time Cuomo is questioned about New York’s nursing home death toll, he brushes off criticism as politically motivated and notes that his state's percentage of nursing home deaths out of its overall COVID-19 death toll is around 20%, far less than Pennsylvania’s 68%, Massachusetts’ 64% and New Jersey’s 44%.

“Look at the basic facts where New York is versus other states,” Cuomo said during a briefing Monday. “You look at where New York is as a percentage of nursing home deaths, it's all the way at the bottom of the list.”

In another briefing last month, he touted New York's percentage ranking as 35th in the nation. “Go talk to 34 other states first. Go talk to the Republican states now — Florida, Texas, Arizona — ask them what is happening in nursing homes. It’s all politics.”

Boston University geriatrics expert Thomas Perls said it doesn’t make sense that nursing home resident deaths as a percentage of total deaths in many nearby states are more than triple what was reported in New York.

“Whatever the cause, there is no way New York could be truly at 20%,” Perls said.
