This reminds me of the "Florida is a red state now" wishful thinking.

Florida is going to be voting Republican at the State level for the foreseeable future. This is largely due to two things:

[1] The population influx of FL due to the mass exodus (especially of working class people) from communist hellholes (such as NY and CA).

[2] The voting shift (from Democrat to Republican) of Hispanics.

In NY, the majority of violent crimes are being committed by serial criminals who are released to commit more crimes.

Especially in the streets of NYC and the subways.

Bail reform was supposed to be for non violent offenses. I'm not sure why judges are allowing serial assaulters to walk free?

This is why laws are changed. Every state has stupid laws that should have never been allowed to become law in the first place.

And it usually takes a lawsuit like the one that is surely coming here- TO CHANGE THEM BACK!

I suspect that the No-Bail law is headed for the chopping block!

In Texas, You hit your spouse or lover- or anyone- you are looking at a Felony charge of Assault. The bail could be as low as $5,000 where only 10% has to be put up.

If someone in Texas were arrested for assault- they could still easily get out of jail for $500 bucks- AND IF THEY WERE DETERMINED TO KILL THE ONE THEY PREVIOUSLY ASSAULTED- Paying that Bail would not prevent them from carrying that out either.

So this is not really about bail anyhow- as I question why anyone that is arrested for assault should be allowed bail in the first place.

Speedy trials without bail is the answer!

The trial for assault should happen while the proof is still on the face or body of the victims of the crime IN THE FIRST PLACE!

If you need more judges, jail cells, or courtrooms- GET ER' DONE!

But then this is where the Tax Payers say- NO! OUR PROPERTY TAXES ARE ALREADY TOO HIGH!

When the tax base refuse to vote for tax increases for more jail cells, courtrooms, or judges, THEN THE GOVERNMENT CREATES STUPID LAWS LIKE THIS!

BUT YOU CAN'T HAVE IT BOTH WAYS.

You pay for what you get!

So you think Zeldin will not win? BTW it was a Democrat pollster Mark Penn that thinks this case may make the difference between winning and losing.

Personally I think Hochul will win. Too many sane New Yorkers have fled the state leaving mostly the WOKE. Only when the WOKE come to the realization that their policies hurt themselves will they vote otherwise. This will take decades if not centuries.
