NY Mayor's Wife Was a Lesbian

Simply put, homosexuality isn't a choice, and the dealings of one woman in her perhaps "confusion" is not evidence that homosexuality is a choice, it is merely anecdotal at best. There isn't a lot of biological studies to point that homosexuality is indefinitely biological, however research has indicated that there is a strong evidence of biological correlation. In my view homosexuality, like heterosexuality are innate feelings that you are born with. Although heterosexuality still has some social conditioning involved, what does determine "which way you swing" is how you feel. I do believe there are people who are bi-curious and often at times experiment with that curiousity confusing those feelings of homoerotica with being fully gay when in fact it's merely an experiment. My best guess is, this lady was either confused or perhaps did this to build some socio-political decor for her family profile.

Without getting too involved in this discussion I'll tell you why it matters to some folks whether "it" is a choice or not. If "it" is not a choice then "it" cannot be sin. This is the reason for those arguing both sides of this question.

I tried to quote Damo as this is in response to his post but using this phone I can't tell if I did it right.

Why can't you answer why you care so much?

I find it hard to believe people actually think like you. People don't choose to be homosexual. Just like people don't choose to be heterosexual. It's just how you're born.

The most compelling observation has been the report of genetic linkage of male homosexuality to microsatellite markers on the X chromosome. This observation warranted further study and confirmation. Sharing of alleles at position Xq28 was studied in 52 gay male sibling pairs from Canadian families. Four markers at Xq28 were analyzed (DXS1113, BGN, Factor 8, and DXS1108). Allele and haplotype sharing for these markers was not increased over expectation. These results do not support an X-linked gene underlying male homosexuality."

That would be an argument. As I've said, there are people who are bi-curious and often mistaken their curiousity (which is nothing but confusion since most gays tend to know they they're gay at an early age and tend to stay in that orientation) for being of one sexual orientation.

You need to read her interview in the NY Daily News from May 9, 2013. She wrote a book in 1979 and said she was a lesbian. She met her husband and fell in love. She said she is not bisexual but is attracted to women. She also stated she is now a monogamous heterosexual mother of two. You tell me what she is.

I don't care what she is. It's none of my concern and it should be none of yours! She doesn't need any help because she can do what she wants. People like you need to butt out and let other people be who they want to be!

After reading several articles it seems she is a person who doesn't like to categorize herself as a particular orientation. As a spectator I firmly believe she was bi-sexual.

I don't think any straight person is at liberty to say whether or not homosexuality is a choice or not because none of us are homosexual.

I will say that we have evolved to the point where we will support a choice of homosexuality even if we think it's weird and don't understand it, if it is in fact a choice. Silly freedom.
