I keep suggesting you look up the case of Fife Symington, an ex-governor of Arizona. Same thing, only Symington declared bankruptcy and left the banks and other lenders losing millions on his real estate deals. Had Symington had the means to pay the loans off nobody would care and nobody could sue him about it. As it was, most of the charges brought by prosecutors got tossed by the jury as prosecutorial overreach. The few he got hit with were where he 'fudged' / lied on paperwork to get loans and then failed to pay them back.[/i]

If the loans were paid back, it's no harm no foul. In a civil suit you can't bring criminal charges, and those only count if you had a previous criminal trial the person was found guilty of those charges.

If the prosecutor in NY is bringing just a civil suit, it means her case is too weak to press criminal charges, and in this case very weak because THE LOANS WERE PAID OFF! No harm, no case. If she can't demonstrate actual losses, he case gets tossed. The "Trump lied to get the loans" argument won't fly if THE LOANS WERE PAID OFF.

Let go of your TDS for a moment and look at reality.

So when trump defaults on his loans, which is highly likely, that will be your "benchmark" for his crookedness?

Who knows? Big corporations say, like GM have a whole staff of accountants and lawyers to deal with IRS audits and many take years to complete. This isn't unusual when your tax return is a pile of paperwork six feet high.

The largest tax return in history was filed electronically in 2006. The 237 MB return, filed by GE, would have been more than 24,000 pages if printed. If those pages were laid head to head, how many miles would they cover?
