Nuclear fusion breakthrough. Researchers gain enough energy to boil a kettle.

Solar energy is free for about another 5 -7 billion years. The fact that a store that gives our free candy might be closed at night doesn't mean they don't give out free candy.

There may be a cost because we have to convert solar energy for our use but the solar energy we get from the sun is free. We get so much free solar energy that it would be impossible for us to use it all.

You don't need direct sunlight to produce electricity from solar energy. We still get more energy than we can use from the sun on cloudy days. Light is energy and cloudy days are never as dark as night.

Exactly so. We cannot currently utilize what we need because we are still dum.

The Wright Brothers only flew 120 feet, and that is not enough to fly between cities, proving that we will never be able to fly between cities...

On a more serious note, experiments can easily go out of control, so you want to create the least amount of energy at first possible. If they created a thousand times more energy than they thought they would, they could easily cool it down with a ton of water. If they had planned to create enough energy to supply a small city, and then created a thousand times more energy, it would have been a huge explosion.

This is an early proof of concept. It is a breakthrough, but not the final needed breakthrough.

Oh- so you think they just ' created ' a small amount out of safety concerns ?

Haw, haw..............................haw.

This is an early proof of concept. It is a breakthrough, but not the final needed breakthrough.

Fine. The concept is proven. Now stick it in the files and get on with the battery concepts which will allow universal and perpetual usage of the energy from the god-given sun.

I know that as a fact. The intention is to create the least amount of ignition as possible. You always start small, and then push towards the boundaries.

The Wright Brothers did not start by flying from New York to London. They started by flying 120 feet. That is 0.02 miles.

The best plan is to have diverse research projects, so we an have diverse solutions.

No- they were overjoyed to get a ' result ' at all. The idea that they would install safeguards in case the result was massive is an hilarious nonsense.

They didn't even know what would happen when the assholes exploded the first atom bomb.
