I agree, but I dont believe that Tebow is innocent enough to belive that this will not draw attention to himself. There are plenty of ways to pray that would not draw this attention to himself. The only conculsion is that he is trying to draw attention to himself. I suspect he is using religen for PR and I resent that.

But I would argue that he is inspiring that effort. The defense is playing better now than they did under Orton. I don't think that's coincidence. He has everyone believing.

Also, there is no way to know, but I doubt the kicker is doing quite that well on long game-winners without some of the positive vibe that Tebow has brought to the team.

Do you not see what you are doing here? You are trying to give Tebow credit for some mystical (possibly divine) power, which ultimately causes all his team mates to play at a level above their capabilities. I agree, Tebow's faith and confidence are inspiring, and maybe this has something to do with the come-from-behind winning against all odds... but I personally think it is more attributable to key defensive players, doing what they are paid to do, because they are really good players, because they play in the professional level of their sport. Now.... If I observed the entire Bronco's team over on the sidelines praying with Tebow... I might be inclined to believe that Tebow was responsible for all this.... but that isn't what I see happening.

Nothing mystical about it. This has nothing at all to do with his religion, and everything to do w/ leadership and his pure belief in his ability to win games. It's the same thing we have seen for a decade with Tom Brady.

It's the same thing Bill Walsh talked about w/ Joe Montana's game-winning drive in his 1st Superbowl win. Joe believed they were going to win; then the guys in the huddle believed it too; then the guys on the sideline; then the crowd. And when the other team was screwed was when THEY started to believe it, too.

1) They are exploited because he is engendering support and love from these fans because they are duped into beliveing he is devout, when in reality he is using religen for PR.
2) I never said it results in his football team winning games, it does however result in his attaining more popularity and more endorsement contracts.

In order to support the charge that Tebow is "exploiting" something, there must be some purpose for the exploitation, or it doesn't make rational sense. Again, I don't see people lining up to have things endorsed by Tebow just yet. Maybe if he miraculously takes the Broncos to the Superbowl? But then, Colorado will probably adopt the official religion of Tebow if that should happen.

For those of you who are too new to recall the legendary thread in which this idiot is referring to, allow me to explain what he means...

Several years ago, I had an opportunity to go do contract work overseas. I had been making preparations for my departure, there is so much to do, I was really afraid I would miss something, so I had a list of things. I had racked my brain, and thought I had considered everything, or at least, all the important things. The week I was supposed to leave, I was taking a shower, when I heard a voice telling me to make certain financial transactions. I don't know where the voice came from, perhaps it was only a voice in my head... but I had not even thought about these transactions, and suddenly, this voice in the shower had planted that thought. I did what the voice had told me, and left for abroad... turns out, it was a very good thing I did what I did, it saved me about $100k in the end.

Now, I told this story in a thread where we were all discussing spirituality and spiritual beliefs. To me, it is the evidence I need to know there is a power superior to self, that we as humans can tap into. I don't know if this voice was "GOD" or "JESUS" and I never claimed it was. But the nitwits and morons here, have to distort and pervert everything they can, in order to have some semblance of remaining in the game with me, so I understand. I just wanted the newbies to know where this shit comes from. It's really very profound that something so trite and trivial, can make such an indelible impression on the pinhead morons. I revel in my own wonder sometimes.
