Notice how conservatives no longer talk about deficits/debt,

We bitched about it for years, and you leftards said it wasn't a problem. Now we find the national debt just topped 20 TRILLION. We will NEVER repay that. I blame both parties, but place particular blame on the demorats for piling more debt on with all the vote buying schemes that are their tradition. I just went through a fucking hurricane, the national debt is a lot like that. You move to safe ground, pull up a lawn chair and a bowl of popcorn and watch a force of nature that you have absolutely zero control over, wreck havoc on your life. And you look to the GOP as the emergency services that are going to help, and they have all basically decided to go on vacation. So you can shove the national debt/deficit where the sun don't shine. As for who's in the white house, I know why I voted for Trump, and I am VERY satisfied with his responses to my concerns so far. Imagine how good it would be for the jackass party if they all got on board with him and helped pass everything he wants, and it failed miserably? Maybe your wet dream about the GOP dying a grisly, painful death would come true, and you could return to the blistering obama economy!

Now there's a rant, but he did pretty much validate my point, "we bitched about it (debt) for years," specifically the Obama years, but now it is nearly forgotten, and then it goes off into radio rhetoric

And, if you know what you are doing, when you control all three branches of Gov"t you shouldn't need the Democrats "to come on board" to pass anything

Good luck recovering from your current troubles

and you think that's different from liberals........how?

Democrats have always been about social policy, especially making sure the less fortunate aren't forgotten, regardless of who is President. Democrats have always taken a Keynesian approach to economics, which has been consistent thru the majority of Democrat Administrations. Democrats have supported a collective security approach to foreign policy,a common thread in each past Democratic Presidents since Wilson

Democrats have remained loyal to these principles regardless of who is in the White House or from which party

Let me be more specific. Every Presidential candidate says it. And as I said deficits only matter to those who are out of power.

They matter to me, but I have long since learned that to most deficits matter in the abstract. When it comes to actually cutting spending it never really happens.

Hell we live in an Orwellian world where a spending increase that doesn't go up as much as some would like is called a spending cut.

Another validation of my point, now we conservative considerations and realities to deficits/debts, like a replay of the Bush Administration coming off the budget surplus years of the Clinton era, suddenly, new "realities" are variables

You really don't care what a candidate represents, all that matters is the {R} after their name. You have gotten just what you deserve on every level of government.

I do understand that the republican house writes and passes all spending bills. This is the party of fiscal responsibility and balanced budgets, aren't they?

also... you may want to take a hard look at the historical control of the House. Who controlled it when the deficits were rising? Who controlled it when they were falling?

I will be glad to discuss debt.......Obama had a ton of it......we want to have less of it......what more would you like to know?.....

When were deficits falling last?
I do recall that the Bush years caused our deficit to double, and for the past 7 years ever bit of our increased deficit has been caused by republican spending bills.

The responsibility for writing spending legislation rests with Republicans, as does the responsibility of passing that legislation.
