So in Minnesota, marriages are normally done by county court administrators. Apparently, they have the right to decide whether or not to perform this function; but if they do, they have to marry everyone who asks assuming it's a legal marriage.
Same sex marriage arrived in Minnesota Aug 1st; in three counties, the administrators decided not to perform any marriages - opposite sex or same sex. Apparently they were hoping for some big publicity because no marriages would be happening there.
Two other county employees from the Taxpayer Service Center - which actually provides marriage licenses - have stepped in; gotten ordained; and are now performing all the marriages, gay/lesbian/straight.
No hitch, no glitch, no uproar.
Very cool.

Hate away, haters, but equality will continue moving forward, around you or over you, whichever!
