Both America and North Korea know the stakes, so Trump's talk does nothing to move the ball forward, it only boxes him in and makes him look stupid. Military power is a looming threat, but unless North Korea attacks an American ally, is basically a toothless threat. China will not operate against their own interests, and their interest involves maintaining the NK regime.

The Russians and Chinese should give Iran nuclear cover until it can stand alone.
