Nobel peace prize 2022

The Abraham Accords were in process many years before trump

they were?.....

The Abraham Accords are a series of joint normalization statements between Israel, the United Arab Emirates, and Bahrain, effective since September 15, 2020.[1] Mediated by the United States, the initial announcement of August 13, 2020, concerned only Israel and the United Arab Emirates before the announcement of a follow-up agreement between Israel and Bahrain on September 11, 2020.

He is a radical contrast compared to the J6 insurrectionists in terms of commitment to truth, moral integrity, and democracy.

It's good to see someone who actually deserves it, unlike Obama or Arafat. I personally would have liked to have seen Aung San Suu Kyi awarded the prize, she deserves it. Don't tell me that she received one before, that was way back in 1991.

Fo those in need of a clue:
Prize motivation: “for his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples”

Mainly his promises to end the War in Iraq...a huge fucking thorn in the side of all Third World Nations and even our allies. Invading another country was bullshit in 2003 and it's still bullshit in 2022. You should know better, Chief.

Still, unlike the authoritarian cocksuckers who want to dictate what people and private groups do, it was the Swedish committee's choice to give it based more on Hope rather than Deed.

I wouldn't have given it to him, but I'm not an asshole telling the committee what to do. If you want Trump to win, start a campaign to both nominate and vote for him. It's a private fucking committee. Why act like it's Nancy Pelosi and AOC calling the shots? That'd be fucking crazy.

Barack Hussein Obama
The Nobel Peace Prize 2009

Born: 4 August 1961, Honolulu, HI, USA <---time until Trumpers react: 10...9...8...

Residence at the time of the award: USA

Role: 44th President of the United States of America

Prize motivation: “for his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples”

Prize share: 1/1

Inspires Hope for a Better Future
Barack H. Obama, the 44th President of the United States, had been in power for less than eight months when he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for 2009. Among the reasons it gave, the Nobel Committee lauded Obama for his “extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples”. Emphasis was also given to his support - in word and deed - for the vision of a world free from nuclear weapons.

Even before the election, Obama had advocated dialogue and cooperation across national, ethnic, religious and political dividing lines. As President, he called for a new start to relations between the Muslim world and the West based on common interests and mutual understanding and respect. In accordance with a promise he made during his election campaign, he set in motion a plan for the withdrawal of U.S. occupying forces from Iraq.

During his first year in power, President Obama showed himself to be a strong spokesman for human rights and democracy, and as a constructive supporter of the work being done to put effective measures in place to combat the climate crisis. This is in line with his appeal: “Now is the time for all of us to take our share of responsibility for a global response to global challenges”.

The committee HOPED he would do this. Obama didn't, and the award came back to bite them in the ass.

Like closing GITMO, Obama, being a newbie, was on Mount Stupid when he campaigned and promised to end the war and close GITMO. It turned out to be a bigger problem than he thought.

I do give him credit for doing the job over completing a naive campaign promise. The Afghan Surge was one. Still, he made sincere efforts.

You're free to bitch about the Swedes and call them a bunch of Lefty cunts, but I still hold that it's up to them.

It was basically the committee's implicit condemnation of George Dumbya Bush's invasion of Iraq, and a recognition that Obama was an American leader who opposed the war from the beginning and who promised to end the Bush policy of invade first and ask questions later.

Then he turned around...and ramped up US troop deployment in Afghanistan (another illegal, US invasion) from 34,400 in 2008.
To 97,000 by 2011.

He also originated the 'double-tap drone strikes'.
The deliberate targeting of innocent, first responders.
Which many consider as war crimes.
And that is on top of the fact that drone strikes aginst foreign countries is an 'act of war'.

And let's not forget that Obama ordered the murder of an American citizen, without trial.

Plus, Obama intervened - militarily - in the Libyan Civil War.
Which was not only, NONE of America's business.
But also left the country in a complete mess.
Which it still has not recovered from.

Yes...what a peaceful man is Barack Obama.

Once again, I DESPISE both parties.

What a mensch. Contrast someone like him or Navalny with our weak and impotent Reichwingers here who cry when their fascist leader is rightfully criticized for his lies and corruption.

The Nobel prize does not require you to put flowers in your hair, wear Birkenstock sandals and tie-dye shirts, and declare yourself a hippy pacifist.

The UN Charter recognizes a right to self defense. Al Qaeda with an assist from their Taliban allies attacked us, and we had every right under international law to seek retribution.

Nobody on this board ever complained about drone strikes on suspected terrorists until after January 20 2009.

Libya was a NATO operation primarily lead by French and British and there isn't a single person on this planet I have seen cry tears of sorrow for Qaddafi.

The MAGA cult hollers a lot about freedom, but then they try to overthrow legitimate democratic electrons, which is more reminiscent of Putin and Lukashenko than the model of these Nobel prize laureates

Yep. They define "freedom" a bit differently than the rest of us. To them, "freedom" means being able to publicly disparage everyone they hate -- whether that's women, non-whites, non-Xtians, non-Reichwingers -- without repercussion. It means being able to force women to give birth while strutting their already-born-people killing sticks around at Walmart. It means forcing teachers to shut up about racism, LGBTQ issues, and child abuse while promoting Xtian prayer and beliefs in public schools -- but not Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, or Buddhist beliefs. It means supporting a corrupt fascist criminal as dictator for life, while rigging the voting process to favor similar despots.

I guarantee you that 80 percent of these "freedom lovers" and Constitution lovers would have enthusiastically supported Trump if he successfully engineered a military coup to prevent Biden from serving his term.

I agree. In the 1770s they would have been the Tories. If politics were a football game, they would have been the ones rioting and tearing up the stadium when their team lost. Impotent angry little toddlers, all of them.

Obama of course, made some effort. It wasn't Nobel Peace Prize level stuff however, and it's the Norwegians that run the Nobel Prize, not Swedes.

It could be 50 years from now and Rightwingers will still be complaining about Obama's Nobel prize

The anti-Iraq war speech he made in 2002 before Bush invaded should be required reading and will stand the test of time in the eyes of future historians.

Thanks for the correction; you are bitching and whining about the fucking Norwegians. :rofl2:

For the record, it's the Swedes for all the prizes except the Peace Prize.

Trumpers now hate the Norwegians for two reasons: They gave Obama the Peace Prize but refused to give Pedo Don one. . LOL

He didn't deserve it, simple as that!!
