"Just 41% of voters nationwide now favor the health care reform proposed by President Obama and congressional Democrats. That’s down two points from a week ago and the lowest level of support yet measured. "

"That’s partly because just 22% believe Congress has a good understanding of the legislation. "

"While some Democrats have charged that opposition to the president’s plan is based upon racism, just 12% of voters agree. "

"Voters overwhelmingly believe that every American should be able to buy the same health insurance plan that Congress has. Most favor limits on jury awards for medical malpractice claims and think that tort reform will significantly reduce the cost of health care."

You can buy a better health plan than congress has already. It's just no one can afford it. What a stupid question to ask.

can we afford HR3200?....or is that a stupid question to ask....

Sorry, they do.

It's not even close on the Government-run health insurance option. 2/3 or so of the country supports that.
From your link, dummy.

The poll found that an intense campaign by Mr. Obama to rally support behind his health care plan — including an address to Congress, a run of television interviews and rallies across the country — appears to have done little to allay concerns.
It also shows that only 30% "mostly support" Obamacare. LOL

2/3 support a public option, and 60% oppose Obamacare. Yep, that makes sense. Rasmussen wins.

You do realize that the public option is just a PORTION of the overall bill?

You do realize that stating 'public option' is simply a generic term that would need definition in terms of HOW it would be implemented and what it would entail?

The public option is the most radical and supposedly least popular of the parts of the bill. 2/3 support.

re-read the article....the NYT poll itself does not support the claim that 2/3 support it, in fact the poll says only 52% do, and that's the best news he got, since the poll also says only 47% approve of the way he is handling the issue....

Nobody supports the "Obama plan" if you say that the "Obama plan" is the Baucus bill. You'd get similar results among liberals on this site alone, maybe worse, if you asked that question.

The fact is 2/3 support for the public option. That's huge.

Again, the 2/3 support "A" public option. That does not mean they support the plans being put forth by the idiots in DC. The majority are against the current plans being put forth. You can play word games all you like, but the plans in Congress are what people refer to as "Obama's plan". This is his initiative. He may be leaving the writing up to the idiots in Congress, but that doesn't change the fact that he is in charge.

I venture to guess that most of the people don't know what is best for them or even understand most of what is being proposed. It is sad.

given that the politicians who wrote the crap don't even know what all is in these monstrosities, it is no wonder people are confused. THAT is one of the reasons people are against the current bills. No one knows what all is in them, yet the idiots want to rush the passage of one of the bills into law. It is the haste and sloppiness that is pissing people off.

I don't think the public option is a bad one..... IF... it competes fairly with private plans. (meaning it cannot be subsidized by tax dollars)
