New Jersey has become ground zero this year for legislative battles over gun control.
The Brady Campaign ranked the state third in the nation for most restrictive firearms laws, yet anti-gun Democrats who control the legislature are determined to go all the way to gun bans and confiscation.




Since the legislation covers both detachable and fixed magazines, it has the effect of to banning popular, low-caliber rifles. The Association of New Jersey Rifle and Pistol Clubs gave the draft legislation to top firearms experts in the country to determine what guns would fall under the expanded ban. They discovered that the bill would affect tube-fed, semi-automatic rifles because the magazine cannot be separated from the gun. Thus, the experts found that at least 43 common rifles would suddenly be considered a prohibited “assault firearm,” such as the .22 caliber Marlin Model 60, Remington Nylon 66 and Winchester 190. Just having one such gun would turn a law-abiding owner into a felon overnight.

zappa showed their true intentions in another thread that is the anti gunners true motives. they don't want to confiscate lawfully owned guns, just the illegal ones. then it's only a matter of time before they make them all illegal. that way they can say nobody is trying to take our guns.

I don't see it happening in my lifetime and I plan on living for another 40 years at least. Our culture is too steeped in guns for the minority to take the guns from the majority. The percentge of people who wish all guns confiscated is very small. I know of all my friends only one is totally anti gun. Most of my liberal friends are hunters or support hunters, but this is Alaska.

it's been done in California, it's happening again in Cali. NJ is considering it, Illinois has done it. Maryland is starting, what do you not see? is it only confiscation when they surround entire neighborhoods?

People in NJ and NY are burning their registration forms, this is over registration, when they begin going door to door and confiscating, I am sure the people will protest that as well.

The Maryland law is only in regards to criminals unless you can show me something the issues that targets lawful citizens.
