Read this, especially the second paragraph about assimilation. That's what happened with all who immigrated here, over time they were absorbed into the culture and population, and that's exactly what will happen with today's Muslims and Hispanics. Are you familiar with the phrase "going native"?

In your sick twisted mind, you've fantasized that opposition to this, is based on bigoted fear of Muslims. You've convinced yourself this is the only plausible explanation for opposing the mosque. It's the only way you can justify your support of the mosque, to make everyone opposed a bigot. But does that mean Harry Reid and Howard Dean are bigots too? Howard Dean says he doesn't believe 68% of the population are bigots.
So here you have the two foremost experts on when something has crossed over into Stupidville, telling you this is stupid, and you refuse to accept that, because you believe 68% of America are bigots who fear Muslims. Now this is a news story because the president made an astounding statement supporting the mosque, contrary to what 68% of Americans think. If he had the slightest sense of presidential decorum, he would have kept his yap shut about this, and stuck to "it's a local issue" and you minions wouldn't have to be out there all week defending, deflecting, diverting, distorting, or whatever the hell you do to prop up your failed ideas. But he made it a national issue, because he is the President of the United States....comes with the territory. Obama could say he doesn't like cats, and all next week, America would be debating whether or not we should get rid of our cats! The office holds power, some would argue, it's the most powerful office in the world. People listen and hinge on every word that comes through the man's lips, and you and he should be aware of this by now.
This has never been about Muslims worshiping, or a mosque being in proximity of ground zero, it's about radical Islam building a trophy of conquest at a site where they killed 3,000 fellow Americans. That is why 68% of the people (including many democrats and Muslims) are opposed to the idea.
