no more right to travel freely

Don't waste your time trying to explain things rationally to him...he isn't interested.

Governor Perry here in Texas ordered everyone in Houston to evacuate before hurricane Ike arrived, but you won't hear STY or BHY speaking up about that because Perry's a good little Rightie Pol.
dumbass. 1) I wasn't on the board during Ike and 2) I laughed my ass off at all the idiots that actually went along with this. I would not have left. But don't let that get in the way of your leftist fantasy.

I think you guys jumped the shark on this one.

You have no Constitutional right to drive on the roads of Mass.
you DO have a right to travel freely and i've posted numerous cases declaring an actual right to drive, many times. Do I need to post them again?

Of course when you slide into a drift and freeze to death you will whine that the gobblement didn't save you
so you're only part statist?

Plow trucks obviously are everywhere. All the drivers I heard from planned to plow continuosly all night.
Quite a few gas stations still open but most are partially or completely out of gas.
A large part of Hyannis has already lost power.
Police were seen at a few intersections, as well as all manner of utility vehicles, fleets of which are amassed at some motels.
Police traffic enforcement was nil and there were ocasional civillian vehicles.

You guys actually have plow trucks? Holy shit. I mean, we do too in theory, because we do work on them every year. But damned if I ever see them in action. Makes me wonder how the fuck they get damaged every year to need us to fix them.

The sad thing is that Partick has to issue such an order, because humanity is stupid enough to drive out in these conditions. A guy like me doesn't need to be told to stay in. As such, we are handed the opportunity to debate over the police state. Fuck you, humanity.

And another generation of proles is going to be conceived.

Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha!!

Marshfield police have given a code red alert to coastal residents.
That is an order to evacuate.

I wonder if minime will send his predator drones to destroy these evacuees?

They will likely be on minimes roads right?
Mere residents!!

A choice, stay and risk death or leave to guaranteed incarceration!

Those caring sharing compassionate liberals, appear to be setting up a sting to fine those who live in the wrong areas!!

dung thinks the government banning driving is hilarious

is anyone surprised by this?

I'm in the midst of this shit west of Boston and given current conditions, yes, I think this thread is hilarious. People bitch about how stupid government is and the it does something perfectly sensible (pursuant to laws passed in the 50's, mind you) and suddenly it's tyranny. Hilarious.

Yup, the snow is getting close to 2 inches now!
Lethal !!!
I'd evacuate, but I don't wish to be called a terrorist!!
Driving in the snow is a terror act , right?

perfectly sensible would be to tell people to stay home. not to have criminal liability for driving and then to allow the media an exception.

who cares if it is on the books, would you support slavery if was pursuant to laws passed in the 50's?

how is it paranoid to see this as an example of the police state. did you see the that you can do jail time and pay a fine if the officers stop you? that is textbook police state. the question isn't whether they will stop you, the question is can they and can they throw you in jail.

i'm surprised you're bashing STY for this.

don't be a rune....

People ordered to leave their homes by one liberal police force whilst another liberal police force fines and jails them for leaving!!
Marshfield!!
A little too erm?
You know?
Not "Deval ", should we say!!
Racist sting operation!

Loyalty oaths were all the rage in the 50's too. Just because something is old, doesn't make it right.
