No locked step support for Obama

That is why I love my Party, they may not be perfect but they DO NOT march in locked step like the R party.

Are you serious? In the last Republican primary one could vote for:
- a social and economic Conservative like Fred Thompson
- a social Conservative and economic Liberal like Huckabee
- a Libertarian like Ron Paul
- a moderate like Guillani
- a pragmatic maverick Conservative like McCain

For the Democrat party you could elect politicians who (aside from the one moderate Bill Richardson) are all leftwing Liberals with virtually identical voting records. Granted they were good actors with Hillary pretending to be moderate and Edwards pretending to be a populist but their voting records are virtually identical and they are the same by their actions.

I think you are thinking of the Democrat party of old, the current one's disagreements like the one between Dodd and Obama, aren't even real disagreements, they are 2 nearly identical politicians trying to not get stuck with the blame and no relevant repubs left in power to be able to get away blaming it on.

dude, if i'm a republican, YOU are a democrat

if I'm right wing, you are left wing.

I'm not just left wing, I'm far left wing .. which is why I don't belong to the centrist Democratic Party.

You might notice that I didn't accuse you of being a republican, but a right-winger .. and that you sure as hell are .. and getting worse.

That is why I love my Party, they may not be perfect but they DO NOT march in locked step like the R party.

I have to admit. If I felt that I could have disagreed and affected change in the Republican party I probably would have remained a Republican but there demands for complete conformity to their far right ideology is a deal breaker. I wonder why the hell they do it? Their marginalizing their party by chasing off everyone who doesn't walk in lock step with views.

The right would consider this "weakness."

In some sense they are right. Demanding conformity does make it easier to provide a consistent message and be able to stay on message while campaigning. That's not an insignificant issue when you're talking about dealing with today's omnipresent media.

You people cheered and marched in locked step while your party nearly distroyed this country.

Note the alternative democratic voices telling Obama what they think should be done.

There is not better proof of how mindless republicans are.
and if you believe Republicans are mindless then you've forgotten how the Democrats became a minority party for most of the 90's and a big chunk of the 2000's and are dooming Dems to be a minority party again. Republicans are anything but mindless. They may be wrong, misguided or extreme but mindless they are not.

goosestepping is what the Democrat party insists from their cult followers..and if you don't, they seek to destroy you..look at what they did to Joe the Plumber, Sarah Palin, Bobby Jindal..

the Democrat party should just change their name to what they really are..the Communist party of the United States..

LOL Aint that the pot calling the kettle black? You been listening to your leader Der Schweinefettesel. Ich bein einen der Republikaner, ja? Thrown any liberals into a blast furnace lately as we all know you want to do?

I agree, people who say that all Republicans agree on everything or walk in "lock step" (typing that made me laugh) are full of shit.

Oh my G_d, what a ridiculous statement!

How many hundreds of thousands of Republicans left the party because of Bush? Plenty!!! There was plenty of criticism of Bush throughout his eight years and you make such a foolish statement?

Why? Do you think Rush Limbaugh speaks for all Republicans and since Rush is still extremely vocal and somewhat popular that he speaks for all conservatives?

What Democrats have turned away from Obama? None that I can think of. So far you all still walk in lock step with him. What the hell are you talking about Desh?

ahahahahaahahahaha.

what a partisan hack you are.

I must admit that for you to continually type this as often as you do and knowing that you are the closest thing to a partisan hack on the internet, really takes a large set of gonads.

What alternative voices? I've been listening carefully and so far I hear a lot of farting and little else coming from the left side of the aisle.

Immie

no lockstep....good lord you crack me up...take off those partisan blinders and see the truth

Unified Democrats mirror Obama budget priorities

WASHINGTON – In a springtime show of unity, congressional Democrats welcomed President Barack Obama to the Capitol Wednesday and unveiled budget blueprints that embrace his key priorities and point the way for major legislation this year on health care, energy and education.

Haven't they already spent 9 trillion in the last two months? How are they going to pay for this new stuff as well?

Just going back to this original post does it just give a chill to anyone else
to hear someone say "I love my party"? Maybe its just me. I'm a registered
Republican because I agree with more of what they stand for than the Democrats but I sure as hell don't love the Republican Party.
