That's why they stopped doing it...When I was teaching, we were able to get and redistribute so much food...
And then someone caught the "sue" bug that you mentioned, and they slowly but surely just had to stop.... It's ridiulous the amount of food that goes to waste, although that too is changing a bit...
Food rescue groups and new rules are popping up...

The minute a leftist is asked if they are willing to house illegals in the own home, they make excuses.
I believe the same paradigm exists with feeding "the poor". If every leftist who's cheering the Schumer shutdown was willing to buy food for "the poor" with their own money, nobody would starve.
If every leftist who's cheering the Schumer shutdown was willing to share their home with "the poor", nobody would be homeless.
If every leftist who's cheering the Schumer shutdown was willing to support furloughed federal employees (including servicemembers) with their own money, none of those folks would be worried about paying their bills.
They aren't.

Republicans can’t be trusted. The Democrats want subsidies for healthcare, they know if they sign the CR that it’s the end of subsidies and affordable healthcare. They know promises made by Republicans will not be kept.
If they didn't want them to expire they should not have included an expiration date when they put in emergency funding for Covid. Now that their far future expiration date has arrived suddenly they want emergency funding to be permanent. Nothing is more permanent than a temporary democrat program.

They believed it would only be needed temporarily. Things changed since then and families need the subsidies in order to afford the insurance. Democrats want Americans to have affordable healthcare, the same can not be said of the Republicans.
Obama Care is failed unsustainable program. It needs to expire.
It needs to be replaced with Medicare for all!
Like when the Democrats promised Reagan they would seal the border in exchange for amnesty.
