Even in California, I would suspect that finding a jury that will convict the shopkeeper will be a Himalayan task to do.

If he does not plead guilty he will be loaded with charges and destroyed with legal fees....maybe the state will even come after his family and friends if he fails to do as he is told, that sort of a abuse has become routine.
